OK, color me disapointed. I arranged to be taken up in a YT-1300 today to see what it looked like on the inside, and I find out that the deckplan is not even close to canon. It is WAY too small on the inside. Here is a copy of the deck plan of the Falcon, as taken from the West End games SW RPG.Here are two other YT variants, one for cargo and one for passengers, from the same source. Here is the SWG version of the ship.I was sort of expecting them to get it wrong, so I can't say I was supprised. On an unrelated note, I also believe from the screen shots I have seen that the KSE Firespray is ( in SWG ) a single person ship. Acording to the stats in the West End and Wizards of the Coast RPGs, this ship should be POB as it supports a crew of up to six. The interior of this ship isn't as documented as the Falcon, but there is a group that makes deckplans using avaialable pictures of ships that can be found here, and they have an awesome deckplan for the Firespray in one section of that site.Message Edited by Just_Bri on 07-13-2005 11:45 PM
Actually that came out of Starwars Gamer magazine, printed for the Wizards of the Coast d20 version, not the WEG d6 SW-game.
The "West" in the bottom corners threw me off.
Well...Ill just post what I said on the otehr yt thread...

I remember readign a website a few yearsback( dont htink teh website is up anymore) but it explained alot of flaws with the yt-1300....how the interrior does not match up with the exterior and how in the movies the ship is smaller on the outside compared to teh actors than it wa son the inside. The model they crafted for the outside shots was I believe 10%-20% smaller than it shoul dhave been. But the games version fixed some of the interior flaws, but the interior does look a little different than the movie...ill explain why i think it looks different soon..
flaw 1: the loading ramp where the passengers would enter and exit the vehidle was too low. Its supposed to be the same level as the floor of the enterior when closed but when you look at the ship in the front, the ramp is actually a little lower than the flor..so in order for that to work the ramp would have to extend atleast a foot extra higher inside, but clearly in the movies( especially a new hope and empire) we can se ethat it doesnt.
flaw 2: the cockpit is raised slightly higher on the outside but on the inside the entrance to the cockpit is on the same level with the rest of the floor and the ramp door..which doesnt make any sense. The cockpit level is atleast 2-3 feet higher than the ramp door and about 1 foot higher than the interior level.
flaw 3: the entry to the turrets in the movie are directly adjacent to the cockpit entry hallway, and when you enter the guns are facing the same way (IE: in a new hope, they crawling in and the guns were facing forward) so that would mean that the guns would have to hang directly the oposite direction as the cokpit which would have the guns facing towards the left side of the ship( probably around a 120 degree angale) but the guns are always facing the front in the movies.
flaw 4: in a new hope one of the imperial troopers mentioned that "many" of the escape pods have been jetisoned...but when iresearched this most sites would claim that the two side main rings( above the ramp door) were the escape pods...but they were still there in the movies....so where on the ship are the escape pods? and how many did the falcon have?
Those were the main flaws I remebered reading about but there were actualy a few more than that. In order for the ramp to bring the passengers to teh same level as the interrior the ramp would have to have a ladder or extend up inside about one more foot. And in order for the inside to reach the same level as the cockpit there would have to be anotehr ladder or ramp which inclined when you entered the cockpit. And in order for the lasers to be facing forward when you ente rthe entrance to the turrets would have to be in the rear of the ship, not ajacent to the cockpit. And the escape pods...Im not exactly sure, ive read many different things fromd ifferent sites.
