Thread: To shut people up about the Jedi Starfighter

He's right - the only "plus" to the JSF vs. the A-Wing/Adv is that it has 100% maneuverability at 100% throttle.

I do understand the word BALANCE and the best pilots can take them on cos i read on a nother fourm that in a big battle a guy killed 10 JSF and only died 6 times but maby the A-wing dose have room for improvement just to make it more BALANCED.
That was me - and i got 20 kills - it wasnt hard they where all nubs like you who never set foot in DS to PvP before and had no idea of how to fight other players. However in the hands of an experienced pilot it is all-powerful.

Alot of people play in space just for faction point grind. Half the people I meet in DS leave when they see another player there, or ask to be left alone to pve in peace.
I'd never give quarter in DS. I only do it in Kessel if the person is an Ace there to help people with the master missions, since the fps are the only "pay" they get from the game, and it's no longer a PvP zone. DS is a different story. The fps earned there have have a profound effect on the GCW and the economy.

I don't give people a second break most of the time. If they're overt i'm goin after them. Unless I've chatted with them before and have become friends with them. But they overt i'm goin after them. Up to them to defend themselves.
hehe, i know, i'm mean ![]()

Do us a favour, go test, and test, and research a LOT on that Game Cube game, we'll be anxiously awaiting your return.

Ask the trueimperial aces on your server (the ones who regularly PvPed before the introduction of the JSF) and they will without fail tell you that the JSF is unbalanced. And a lot of them are eschewing the JSF in favour of there other spacecraft that are more than a match for an Awing as they see the use of a JSF as game breaking and they dont want to look like griefers with an unbalanced uber loot piece beating other peoples craft. They would much rather win using skill, daring and courage than win by griefing.
The use of the Jedi Star Fighter IS griefing - as would be the use of a weapon that didnt convert properly in the CU on the ground and had a dps of 5000!
But it is good to see my legendary exploits spread!

The only thing that i know is that i dont want to replace my brilliant, beauty, and precious Tie Advanced, which took me 6 months to adjust, for a horrible JSF. Neither i want the rebels to look in trade forums or to change sides just to make a quest and be equal in pvp. I want damn balance up there! We had it before ROTW!An x-wing (with a good pilot in, of course) could beat my advanced in a dog fight. I had the size advantage, he had the firing power.
Please, give us pilot balance back! ![]()

In other words, these ships aren't moving any faster at all. They've got the mass for bigger engines, and that can make them faster, but as for the chassis, that shouldn't be affecting game limitations. If ships are blinking, I definitely want to know about it, but I'd think it's early to be ruling out the effects of asteroids and increased server strain or to be certain it's not affecting other, older ships as well.

Well, just to keep things clear, I do think the new ships are unbalanced, but I think some of the problems being raised with them are overstated. My intent's to clear up misperceptions, not serve as an apologist for them.
I have started a discussion on ship balance, so we'll see what comes of that. Maybe I can even hook Darth_Platypus into going over some of this stuff with me, he seems pretty on the ball.
I think the intention were to make combat more fast paced and partially eliminate 1-shot kills (they still willbe 1-2 shots but to hit the fighter will be a challenge now).
