Well, with the lack of pilots wanting to group for almost any of the missions, but especially for the Vette takedown, I tried to come up with a way to make a method that was least dependent upon individual pilot skill and hardwareas possible. Not everyone out there is a low ping bastage with a HOTAS setup on a souped-up game rig.
You could be the worst pilot in the game and be playing with a 56K dialup connection on a Pentium III, but so long as you can obtain a missile lock (and are willing to suffer decay on components and a Y-Wing Longprobe chassis), you'll be able to solo the Vette with the above method.

Great Strategy, I'll try it out tonight! But I don't thinking dying that many times while soloing constitutes the Vette as easy. Just think about how much money you spend. Oh, it technically wouldn't work for freelancers though because, as far as the FAQ here goes, none of our ships have 2 ordanance slots except the Millenium falcon.

I believe it has one, and the ship itself has 65k mass. I guess what I can do is grab my reactor, shields, engine, and some other equipment and try and put as much into that dunelizard I can while getting a mk1 spacebomb launcher in there. Problem is, I haven't once run into a mk1 spacebomb launcher on lowca, only the weaponry. Not to mention I better go find components I can put into it LOL.

The new Dunelizards I've been crafting has about 85K mass. A MKI Spacebomb launcher is about 6.3K mass. A MKIV Starfighter engine can push about 85 speed and is roughly 18K mass. (Well, I'm not the best shipwright in my galaxy by far, so take these numbers with a grain of salt. They're probably on the low side.) Hope this helps.

I'll probably have to pick up a new dunelizard. Pretty sure mine had 65k, maybe it was 85k, only got it for 50k credits so I wouldn't be suprised if it sucked. It got me through till I got my kimogila though
I'll hae to find some engines etc.... I figure a budge of 500k should be enough. Only thing that sucks about the dunelizard is I only have 1 weapon mount instead of the three on my kimo

This method worked for the following reason: concussion missiles will fly through the superstructure and do damage to ships systems.
That includes engine, reactor and bridge. Don't believe me? Give it a try.
I had .92 shield hit, 7k dmg and as soon as weapon 5 was downit was four hits from me, four hits from my wingman and I'm a master pilot.
Concussion missile payload is 10 or 11. So you'll need a friend. It has taken at least 12 missilesthe two times I've done it.

I never said it didn't or wouldn't work.
I simply offered an alternative.

Wow things have come a long way since I mastered Pilot. When I did it we basically took a fleet and performed surgical strikes. Only lost 1 or 2 guys out of 15. Everyone had an assignment and a required ship, It actaully felt star warsy. Of course this was within the first 2 weeks of JTL I don't remember exactly when but within that time frame. Now there is an instruction book on how to solo it? I like the old days when we were all dumb and the general tactic was to throw yourself at it. I felt so awesome when we successfully blew up the corvette (with my battle plan). I think 4 or 5 of us made master that time. Times change, oh and I Remember the corvette going nuts then too.
And when we were done and the wreckage cleared we were all parked talking about how cool it was when a lone Tie advanced swept through and popped 5 of us in a single pass. Single shot kills all down the row.

Gosh. Concussion Missiles... I hadn't even thought of those. Thanks!
