Reactor: Mark I Crafted, 1200 mass, 12K generation (overkill, but makes overloading a little easier)
Looks good. Pretty much standard equipment on any ship.Only way I can imagine doing better is finding one of those 850 mass loot engines with comparable generation.
I have pretty bad luck with loot, so I don't see that happening. Besides, the Mk1's are so disposable that I don't even feel a twinge of guilt hitting RO4.
Shield : L8 RE project based on the L8 reward. Should get over 2500 hp back/front. Going for about 29k mass and 2300 drain.
Pretty nice drain, but please don't RE it, yet. You shouldn't have too hard a time finding a reactor that should RE under 25k mass... Hell, if you were on Eclipse, I've gottwo or threethat would fit the bill that I'd be willing to sell.
That would certainly help. I'd prefer to use a Protecto-Net, but both of the ones I got are really bad (1400's). I'll hold off.
Capacitor: L2 RE project. Already did this one. 1000 energy, 38.5 regen, 1100 drain, 1800 mass
Not bad. Though keep an eye on your level 2 caps in the future if you are ever farming low level spawns. You could probably shave off around 200 drain and 600 mass without too much trouble.
Yeap, I've already got a L2 with 620ish drain and 1300 mass laying around. I'm just waiting for a good mate for it.
DI: One of my yummy pre-nerf crafted DI's. 430 mass, 470 drain, 12.1 speed. Yay!
Holy .
LOL! I get this reaction a lot. I actually cooked up about 20 or so of these bad boys the night before the nerf went down. I have on in every one of my ships, and a stack still in my house. I'll never run out.
Engine: I have a prenerf L6 RE engine with 96 top speed, but I didn't RE it well, YPR is all around 68-71. 1500 drain, 9000 mass. It feels really good in an Advanced, especially with EO4 going.
You'll at least be competitive with this. The only thing out there that will be able to turn circles around you easily will be something like a heavy starter or a vaksai with a level 10 engine... Though you are giving a serious edge in turn fights to the jsfs with qids.
Anyone who's NOT in a JSF with a QID is giving a serious edge to the JSFs with QIDs. That's why I'm deeding mine and going back to a respectable ship. :/
Weapons: Two L6 RE guns. Drain oneach will be around 2000 and mass around 9000. One is almost done. Looking at damage around 1800-2500 and eff. ratings around .650 or so.
Looks good. I'm personally trying for lower drain on my L6es, but am not having very good luck right now in that regard.
Booster: L4 RE I did last night. Based on the Reward booster, got it down to 450 drain, 3100 mass. 14s burn time at about 28 speed.
Personally, I go with level 2 boosters. I fly fast and reckless and don't run from anything, though, even when I know I should. Also, if you downgrade the booster and shave an extra 4k off your shield, you can cram in a IR2 launcher to make people sweat in pvp.
Yeah, with the feedback I'm getting here I'm considering going to a lighter booster with a shorter burn time. Pity though, cause I really like this RE. I guess I could always pop it into my Oppressor or something.
Am I offbase here? Anyone see somewhere I can do better?
Just be sure to get out your shoehorn and cram in some armor if you have any mass left over.
Armor is the last of my worries right now. I'm gonna fit everything else in it and then start to really optomize before I address that.![]()
I'd be happy to get owned in an a-wing or an advanced in deepspace, these days. Not much in the way of non-rotw options for a freelance pilot these days, though.
This is one of the cool things about the Imp ships (and the A-Wing). It's really fun trying to come up with a scheme that works and cram it all in there.
But I LOVE my Advanced, and I need to start treating it right!

if you havent yet do the CPI quests leading up to the imperial guard interceptor and see if you get a nice ion pulse l7 gun. ive seen them break 3100 but have never got one that high myself.
I did that. Like all my other quests that involved variable stat rewards (Protecto-net, QID, etc), it ended up sucking.
Anyone on a server besides Kettemoor want to create a throwaway char and run through those quests to give me the rewards??
Some cross-server trade Nym/CPI runs would save me these $30 that I've been reluctant to spend...

Excellent. I'm glad to see more people going back to the older ships. I know of a fair few people now who're working on them and I can vouch for the fact that if you go about it the right way and develop your skills enough, you can be more than a match with a T/A against these Relic ships. Same for the A-wing and probably same for other pre-rotw ships too.
