My thanks to Pace. I have no idea how to clicky.

And my thanks also to eurno_ebaebro__kyrafor the ego boost. The B-wing pilot was me.

I just uploaded what I shot at tonight's event. It mostly shows my poor flying. I'll comment on a couple things there. First, after watching it, I realize I really need to corkscrew while closing. Second, I use the targeting to track more easily where the furball is. I rarely shoot at my 'target'. I'm unsure if this is a good tactic or not though. The third section is where I went in to get some film. But after I realized some Rebs were interpretting me as a combatant, I left to keep from being some sort of 'wooden duck.'

The footage is non-edited. All I did was put in transitions and a little text. Otherwise, it is everything I shot of the event.

Cool vid, Stormwraith!

(I was in the X-Wing firing those 4 purple bolts and 2 bluish balls. I scored that first kill on you in the vid. Hissk seemed to be a magnet for enemy fighters in his Vaksai. I scored a partial kill on him during the first engagement, but IIRC, there were 5 people shooting at him during that time.)

There are a couple of suggestions I have regarding your flying/setup:

1. Increase your field of view to 110+. Targets will be smaller, but the additional situational awareness is necessary in larger furballs.

2. Don't target fixate. Keep checking who your nearest enemy is, since it's probably the guy who's shooting at you.

You Imps flew very well, especially considering that you were outnumbered better than 3:1.

*salute*

Thanks for the tips. I'm hoping to get more practiced soon. But, I am starting to think that what skills I have may be better served in a different ship. But, it was fun and so I'll keep plugging away. I do hope our numbers will increase soon so that the fights aren't as short lived. I'd love to be in a furball that lasts 20-30 minutes instead of the 4-5 we now have.

Tell you what:

If you want, we can have some mock duels and I'll offer some pointers on your equipment if you wish it. Just send me a /tell if you see me online. Heck, I'm always in space, anyway.

I've got the full complement of alphabet fighters so, you can try your hand against the A, B, X, and Y wings.

I'll see about filming and uploading more. Recently, I have put on the push for Ace so I can go to DS in something other than a turret.

I have heard of gamecam. Haven't used it though since I have a registered version of FRAPS.
