Heck, if I get some info on it, I'll probably make a general announcement. People have been wondering about this issue for a long time now.

As far as your questions go, you can gain FP in space if you have a faction on the ground and then go overt in space. There is no combatant equivalent, however: you're either declared and open to PVP, in which case you can gain FP, or you're undeclared and can't.

In space there is normal and there is Overt. Overt allows FP from kills and opens you up to PvP combat. There is no in-between in space.
