I outmaneuver (most)JSFs, Bells, and Heavy variants in my A-wingwith their engine being 75 YPR or greater, and mine being 68/68/70.
There ismore to a ship than it's chassis and equipment, something called a pilot...
--
Engine: 9k mass level six (prenerf) 68.9/68.9/70 (PYR in order) 95.9 top speed
Shield: Crafted Lvl7 16.8k mass 1930 f/b
Reactor: craftedlvl 1 reactor, 12600 output, 1.3k mass
Capacitor: RE'd level 6 (horrible mass) 7k mass, 1181charge and 45 regen
DI: Crafted level 5, 5k mass 15.4 speed
Weapon: RE'd Tri-cannon, level 8, 22k mass, near 3900 max, .680 effectiveness, 13.4 e/s and .390 refire
Countermissile: Mark 1 crafted chaff launcher, 980 mass.
---
With this loadout, I run RO4, EO4, WO3 (sadly), CO4, and CTSS 3. I have a hundred or so mass left on my 65k mass A-wing (those are all rough estimates, I cant get in game right now). The 90k mass of a JSF/Bell, with the added gun slot, superior turning abilities, and low profile make for a ship that anyone can be a half-decent pilot in. My Bell-22 when I flew it had roughly the same loadout, add one 3000 max level 7 gun at 15k mass, front and back armor 4k mass total, a booster at 4k mass and still had 2k mass left over. My point is, my ship is still relatively low tech, and I think that I (and some of the other pilots on my server may agree) do very well in it. 65k mass is enough for me (or maybe 66k, but I don't have one of those =/), the only edge an a-wing has over the JSF/Bell is speed, and it isnt even that much of a difference. Considering this relatively successful loadout on my a-wing, at 65k mass, I hope it is clearer to you why we all think that 90k mass ( plus the extra gun slot...plus the turning..plus the...) is indeed more than enough.
Now granted, I'm not calling all ROTW pilots noobs, but a personal example I have, isan exguildy had just gotten back into the game and got his JSF and switched rebel, ground rebel pilot, and I got him ace pilot. Relatively speaking, he was a little bit of a noob to pilot, with 0 PvP experience. His first time in deep space in his JSF he won a 2v1 fight vs another JSF and an opressor.

Sorry, but what you're saying just isn't possible. Performance is controlled by the game mechanics. Two ships with the same stats will ALWAYS perform exactly the same.

Its my primary Ship...
Its all i fly in combat but due to its low mass, you have to get REALLY creative in its payload.
Low mass? Prepare to be flamed by some Imperial pilots... Seriously, though, given what you have in that ship, calling it low mass is absurd.
It handles just a shy below the JSF, and has the same weaponry (2 guns + 1 missles).
Highlighted = wrong. It handles exactly the same as the JSF. The only difference between these two ships is in the size (bel-22 is about the size of an a-wing, the JSF is about 2/3rds the size of an a-wing.) And that's it.
But Yeah.... The Bell is a sweet ride, just be prepared to go without armor and use ALOT of Droid Programs
It is definately a great ship... Community consensus is pushing it in the direction of being too good to feel comfortable flying... Though the whole idea about going without adequate defenses is a bunch of nonsense. You can easily set aside 55k for defense systems (engine, shield, armor, chaff) and still have enough room for some pretty heavy damage.
But, yes. Run all the droid programs you can find. Droids are your friends.
WOW...
Thats the first time I ever got a post of mine all diced up like that!!
OK...
1) I stand by my statement that comparitively it is LOW mass (Imp pilots flame away) I am running all lvl 7 and below components, all RE. My Krayt is a friggin TANK, and comparatively, this Bel is ... light
2) not wrong, if you can't tell the difference, its OK, i couldn't at first either,.... but in a time wasting experiment i did loop-di-loops around a group of my friends with them all agreeing that the turning/manuevering radius on the JSF WAS slightly sharper (and yes, same engine..lol) I do concur on the size differences and it being very slight. I also agree that the gun placements on the JSF are ideal (center) vs. the Belballub (outer).
3) Perhaps i need better equipment, but seeing how all my components are RE, its a tough sell.
YES, Everyone should be using AS MANY DROID PROGRAMS as can help you... Imp, Free, or Rebel!! (thats why we got unprogrammed droid chips)
I appreciate all the detail you put into responding to my post,... Thank You

It just looks silly. Like Batman's car or something.
Try to use something with style like a- or x-wing.

Dude...are you saying Batman's car didn't have style? Cuz, ya know...the Batmobile was awesome....I mean....I'll fight you if I have to! (Extreme nerd battle!)

My only prob with the Bel-22 was the brightness of those engines on the model - they did my eyes in and then I got fed up with it, deeded the ship and never tried it again
Try using a regular engine type (the basic style) instead of the 'reward' look engines. This gives an engine same as movie, and without the annoying top vent that glows in your eyes.

oh man, you are most definately spoiled from being a freelancer lol.
That was a totally awesome explanation!!!
Yeah,... I bought the game a few months ago... I got the TE
So, I've never known the game pre-CU or even pre RotW...
I flew my dunelizard (90k)all the way upto 4/3/3/3 and then switched to the Belballub and JSF. So ultimately i grinded thru ACE in a 90k ship (all three of em). I just thought i was the exception... lol. Thanks for clarifying all the mass on other ships
I got the Krayt for somewhere to put the big guns...lol, but its collecting dust at the starport... hahaha
I can't wait till they come up with some viable components for my YT-1300,...
AND I REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR THE Y-8...... yay... 4 gun slots

Oh come on.The batmobile is only a plastic toy car ![]()
Cool ships need to have steam coming out of it while in the spaceport. Rust all over, missing hull partsand a non working hyperdrive. Stuff like that.
Every pilot should have oil on his fingers when leaving his ship.
