Until the hitbox is unbugged, every Royal Guard Interceptor I see in deep space gets a courtesy /epulse3. It's only fair

Actually...against RGI is the one time I'll condone the use of epulse. Those things are kriffing evil.

Then just sit in its blind spot and empty concussion missiles into the subcompents.

have they beefed up the vette since you guys mastered? just curious.. I did it about a month ago and the vette was NOT on a set path, it actually turned and angled to attack us

Now the ones for the heavy variants... those are on a set path.

they are on a set path in kessel but every so often it does a little dance to catch you off guard, they have always done this. what i do is after taking out the fighter escort i pop the #5 turret (with guns) then fly behind the vette about 1500m and wait for it to flop around, once it settles i kill the gunships. depending on how fast i killed the gunships i'll usually back off again and let it flop around some more, then i have more then enough time to fire 2 MK3 protons into each shield then fire a few rounds into the engine and disable it. once the engine is dead it doesn't flop around anymore.

If you don't have missiles, the shields aren't all that difficult to hit from a similar angle to the Gun 5 shot, and the engine can be taken out even with the gunboats still there, by using their blind spot. Just remember that the gunboats WILL turn to get around the Vette, so get clear once the engine is gone (then catch the gunboats, the Vette isn't going anywhere).

LMAO.... hahahahaha.... sorry too funny... /agree... /agree

anyway.... make sure you use good concussion missles when you go up there... the second time I soloed my vette I bought cheap ones thinking I could get by, took 3 missles for one component instead of 2... lmao I had to land and reload... still got the sucker though

but don't get carried away with the whole "I soloed a vette" bragging right thing, granted it's cool and nice to be able to say you did it, but I enjoy grouping with friends and using role specific team work to take vettes out a lot more than soloing it. Nothing like organizing 1 or 2 inteceptors to do a strafe run on gun 5, another 1 or 2 interceptors to take out the fighter escorts, a couple of multi-purpose ships to assist with the fighters and help take out the gunboats, and a couple of Mark II spacebomb loaded bombers to take out the vette's shields and sub-systems. I get the "real" flight squadron feel from doing missions like that... it's loads of fun.

Pretty much any Imperial ship that can fit a decent engine, shields, and at least one good weapon can solo any 'vette out there. Of course there is the easy way to plink gun 5 out, and then send missiles in but I prefer the all laser strafing run's. The most important thing to do is to clear the escorts away from the 'vette, and then it is dead (barring a lucky barrage).

All I do is head in on the side of the 'vette with Gun 0, and strafe all the way through to Gun 4. Usually in one run half these guns, and Gun 4 is gone. Second strafe I take out the rest, flip over to take out Gun 5, and then the rest is a cake walk since Guns 6 and 7 only fire at you if you are right in front of them. If I want to make the run faster I use CtSS4, but otherwise if you get a hard hit just jink around until you are 1k out, and let your shields regen. I am down to about2-4 minutes per 'vette in deepspace depending on how long it takes me to take the shields out.

Well, im like... just... "meh".

Until sony puts some meaning and signficance into it all, don't really care, because it doesnt matter if you win or lose. Not only that, but im sure every server has at least one resident Epulse 3 monkey, and people are gonna use it whether its "acceptable" or not.

I soloed the imperial vette in 3 mins (not including gunboats and fighter escorts it was midnight, I couldnt really help it, wanted to get master that night). with bstrike 2 of course

also "soloed" the vette as well earlier that day w/o b strike 2, just used b strike 1 for a decoy, while I disabled the engines on the vette and killed the gunboats and fighter escort. once I killed the 2nd gunboat, someone else ran in and finished off the vette

Oh, and yes, I'll verify Leaph's encounter with the RGI. I was flying an X-wing (standard, not one of these new-fangled Advanced models) during the first three or four engagements, then went back and got my Actis.

I'm still pissed about my last death in the X-wing, since it was my fault. We were disarming the ISD to pass the time, and apparently I hit a wrong button somewhere and my chat bar came up, so when I was hitting "z" it just typed "z" into my chat bar...never even saw the Grevious that got me until my fighter blew up.

Hate it when that happens lol.

Though in my case i tend to chat
