Thread: RED TIE BUG?

The first 2 times i tried to do this quest it was bugged (about a month ago) where it would blow up at the same exact spot with nearly full on all components, but 2 weeks lateri went with 2 other friends and did the quest twice and it worked perfectly fine and we got our ties, weird isnt it?

That's the same for all three vettes, dunno if it's a bug or not. I know it's been said above, but it's worth repeating since I see people making the same mistakes frequently - shoot down the bombers first on any escort mission. On this mission, defend that reactor no matter what.


I can't wait for the RGI to be fixed, my setup is very similar to Repax's.

The RGI is a perfect FP hunting machine/loot hunting machine... Although some people complain!




The RGI is mad fun to fly... I still think they need to make a heavy mass version of the TIE/In (like they did with the TIE/Fighter...)

except when i escort the vette all teh turrets come back, they fire on the shipscoming up and never get destroyed, yet the vette still blows up?!?!?!

Focus your efforts on anything that fires missiles...


Also - take your time disabling the vette... Clear her off, leaving only the engine... but let her fly for awhile. Dont "take her" until she is far into her flight plan. This will result in having to encounter less waves (So I hear)...



But, I stress, always hit the bomber types first... the missiles hurt (heh).

Take out the gunboat first, those gunboats do the most damage. I ignored the fighters when gunboats showed up.

I wouldnt fight the gunboat at the expense of leaving 2x B-Wing/Y-Wings alone... Aggro the gunboat as you boost to meet the wave... and kill the heavy fighters, while the gunboat shoots at you.


At least this is what works for me.

As an experiment, i think im gonna take an RGI up next time i go FP grinding. Not gonna attack anyone, i just want to see what people do. I figure they'll do one of four things.

1.) Fly away and leave me alone

2.) Send me scathing hate tells even though i havent done anything to anyone.

3. All of the above.

4.) attack me with everything and the kitchen sink.

Count me in on #4. That way, if you kill me, I can blame it on the RGI instead of your superior skills.

Dunno ive been taking a break. My personal motivation has been kinda low the last few days. Still playing SH3 and raking in the tonnnage. Rome Total War is starting to look appealing again too.

Ah...I've been retroing myself lately. Jedi Outcast, Shadows of the Empire,and EarthSiege 2 have been my latest accomplishments again. Replayed Dark Forces and TIE Fighter over the summer--been thinking about replaying X-Wing and X-Wing Alliance next. Tried playing Force Commander again, too--it's not nearly as bad as what people make it out to be, but I've grown tired of it by the time I hit Yavin, so that's likely where I'll sit for some time again.
