Is this a bus? I was in the process of doing the red tie mission and i was now escorting the corvette out of the system, so i repel tons of waves of ships, no problem, well out comes like two bwings and an xwing and they take a couple potshots at the vette, and it says i fail the mission and the thing only has like 82% systems loss, nothing else is even harmed, it even blew up at 82! This was a relatively long mission so is this suppose to happen when it gets to 82, or is the game just being difficult?

It's because the bridge got destroyed.
It happens from time to time if you're unlucky.

also take note, the Red Tie is bugged, its got a bad hit box, so i wouldn't use it in PVP unless u want to start developing controversy. But yeah, they hit your bridge, and blew it up.... that's how the vette blew, just get the mission again, and watch the missles on the bridge.

Erm, just to be picky - it means they hit the reactor, which seems to be their only target before the vette goes up. On that escort get the missile bearing ships (B-Wings, Y-Wings) first. Actually, that's a good rule for any escort you're having trouble with.

Well the system status on the Corvette is bugged, or when the imps take it over, the bug is: The corvette isnt repaired 100%.
Thats because you'll need to disable most of the systems till the engine, adn only the reactor and bridge are left, which are very easy to hit.
You can see it for yourself when you target the corvette's components when it turned imperial and you are escorting it. It only has the reactor left, and when that is destroyed, its only the bridge which is vulnerable and on the front of the ship
So its either the system status display that is bugged, or the repair when its captured.

Did this mission last night without any problems. vette took some damage but all of it was to the weapons. Systems got to 86% and Reactor was still 100%.

I wish sony would fix this for crying out loud. I have a feeling though that the RGI is going to make rebel pilots complain fixed or not.
On a side note, If i went FP grinding in an RGI, I wonder if people would just leave me alone

I want them to fix it. At the same time, I'm worried about the ramifications.
Were I am imperial pilot, even a really cool one committed to flying balanced ships, I'd be unable to stop myself from flying this thing. Allow me to roleplay: I mean, I've suffered through months and months of stuttering back and forth between 50k mass and 65k but to easy to hit and tons of mass but WAY too easy to hit, and suddenly, at last, my dream ship is flyable.
Except now, it's substantially nastier than canon-bound opposition can field. A-wings can't keep up with me because I'm in an interceptor with an L10 engine. I can out turn a hummingbird. I win so much that my bitter opponents give up their righteous canonical ways and start flying the Bel and JSF again. No! Not fair! I suffered for so long, just let me have this moment...come on guys, it's only fair...
You see where I'm going here. Why can't we just get real factional balance without forcing everyone into exactly the same chassis characteristics?

RGI doesnt have the same handing as a bell22 or JSF.
It has the same responsiveness as the T/I or T/A in terms of YPR accelleration.
It is essentually an 80K mass interceptor as opposed to a 50K mass interceptor. It isnt the chassis you should be worried about, but what the pilot is putting in it, and how it will effect his performance.
EDIT:
You wont see an L10 engine in mine.
What you eventualy see is a QID, a protectonet shield, and an L9 gun. (has the damage of L8 guns, to the tune of .300 refire)

Yeah, this is a clear reflection of the differences in pilot community maturity on our servers. I can get by with an L7 gun easily because very few people are running adjust front even for 1v1. And there's not a lot in the way of high HP low mass armor flying around.
