ok im in storm squadron and im 2222, i got 200k xp to train up but i cant because i gotta do a 3 hour mission, the mission objecitves are not too hard, protect this ship for 30 minutes..... then fly out and kill 5 ships and disable their leader, then defend the leaderfor10 minutestill he hypers, then go kill some advanced fighter ship, then go retake another ship and defend him for god knows how long, ok ALL this is 1 mission, just to "unlock" my lvl 3 skills, now the mission difficulty aside thiswhole craptastic mission is in endor space, covered in groups of teir 4 ship with some teir 5's in there, i have yet to finish this quest because evrey time i do it i get aggro from one of the other group that are teir 4 (which kill me pretty easily) ive spent literally over 12 hours on this mission as ive tried it alteast 7 times, i just tried again after 1 hour and 45 minutes i got killed and failed,

can some please help me understand if im doing something wrong here? or are the devs really that incompetent to their missions? how can i take on 3 rebel ship for my mission and 4 teir fours, and if some says get a friend, NO im not gunna make any of my friends waste 2 hours of thier time for me to lvl up, the space aspect of this game is rediculous(sp), is there some secret trick to this? is there a trick to losing aggro in space? if not i quit space completly, ide like to master it so i can do all the kashyyk mission. i dont understand y they dont keep the space aspect and the ground aspect seperate, i didnt buy this game to play a space combat sim, infact ive never liked any flight sim, YET SWG forces you to b master pilot to do ground based quests on kashyyk, and if u like space woopty crap for u, im happy, but dont tell methat is makes the game more fun, because that your opinion, and if you read all this and wasted 5 minutes of your time im sorry, i just really wanna know am i missing a big secret to this? or am i suppose to do a 2 hour mission in a space system where there are alot of groups of higher lvl ship than me?

Ok man, first, calm down. (not meant as flame)

Unfortunatly, in some cases you need a group in space. All t3 missions are long like that. I needed help with the eception of 1 of them. The reason fo the length of these missions is because you do not need or give up xp to train for tier 3. you will train regardless of xp level at the end of each tier 3 missions. would make that too easy if they were as short as the others. As for wasting 2 hours, some parts of this would go alot faster with help. the escort part will still be as long, but if anything outside the mission agros you, at least you have a wingman or 2 to help.

Besides, when did you see imps or rebels blazing into battle by themselvs in the movies. Always a fleet involved.

And, I am 4444 reb pilot(hope to be master within a few days) and I can do quests on kashyyyk. Whoever told you that you have to mbe master pilot to get there,or do quests there was mistaken. (unless there is a quest i am not aware of with that prerequisite)

Ok, so there is a hard mission, but you don't HAVE to be a master pilot to do it. It is probably just better that you are, or have a group. But there is no ground based mission, that I am aware of that there is a prerquisite that you be master pilot.

Have you tried not going into the spawns and letting the ship you're escorting just take a bit of a beating for a while? Besides, you can probably cut down all but one from each wave, and THOSE are likely to follow you if you shoot them to get their attention...

Grunt-Spit,

Have you invested the money and time to have the best equipment? I am doing Storm and Tier two was a breeze. I mowed down everything in my path. The hardest ones I've done so far have been the first two Tier 3s (you think Tier 2 is long? You havent seen anything yet!)... However, Now that I unlocked 3-3-2-2 I am going to do another major upgrade... I also found out you can have other pilots programs your droid chips with their commands... Having commands from rebel and neutral as well as imp will really improve your ability to whip some butt

PS

I go to the bazaar and go category by category (search entire galaxy) to outfit my given ship with the *best* available stuff with low mass. This will REALLY pay off in the long run IMO if you're intent of doing pilot solo.

The sheer number of folks that dont use droid commands never ceases to amaze me.

Want your guns to hit harder, ship to handle better, capacitor to recharge faster and have more stored energy? Use the freaking programs! (not directed at initial poster, unless they arent using the commands)

Agood idea and When i got master I ran into a similar problem...but i just founds the areas of spawns and targeted the closest one and stayed out of argo range......went around them all to get to my spawn....hard but i did it...of course Kessel was still PvP when i got master....

Few things you should know:

1. No, they are not incompetent, many people have soloed Storm Squadron, so it is doable.

2. SS is widely regarded as the hardest squadron, and definately not recommended for new pilots. If it's your first time through, consider dropping and joining Inquisition.

3. Tier 3 and up isn't really ideal solo. It can be done, but it's much easier if you bring friends.

4. This mission comes up all the time with problems - any time you come up against something really odd in the game like this, try searching first. LOTS of posts on this mission.

5. Make sure you're running droid programs - links in my sig and in the pilot FAQ.

The community has been begging for better ground/space integration since JTL launched. If you don't like space...don't fly? There's still plenty of other content on Kashyyyk, and if you're finding Storm Squadron hard you really aren't going to like some of the Kashyyyk quests.

Good luck!
