I have a Grievous which is like a JSF..its good but...no it stays in the Hangar. GCW ships for the win or even lose..I don't care. The fact is GCW ships are better because they look cooler. You can keep your JSF's if you liek them. I don't care. In fact I don't care about them so much I'm ending this comment....now.
heheheh WOOT!!!!! Thats what I'm talking about!!!! I rather die in a TIE than win in some EP3-pansey fighter!
I'm a Reb on Chimaera and I have both a JSF and Heavy Z-95. The PYR stats are identical 10.5, 10.5, 5.2. Only differences (and this goes for the other heavy's and quest ships) is that the JSF has a much smaller hit profile. I've PvP'd in both the Z-95 and JSF and the JSF did make a bit more difference reagrds getting hit off multiple bogies. In Pve it makes a difference as it's so small. The A-wing was the same, but less agile than either, and even 15k mass less meant it was a lot harder to kit out without access to decent RE kit. I like my JSF as it looks cool. I have killed many JSF in my X-wing, and Z-95, and enough in my JSF. The only ship that has caused me problems of late is the RG tie. I don't know why, maybe Wolund is a fantastic pilot? Even though I trashed him in my basic X-wing. So as I went through a lot to get my JSF (drop Reb Ace, Reb Colonel) and enjoy flying it, and always will. I would like other ships to be able to hold their own against the new ships, given a good pilot then they can. It's always nice to see diverse selection of ships battle it out in DS. It brings a more Star warsy feel to it all. But, in order to have a decent chance of a level playing field, I feel the JSF/quest ships are the only way we can combat all the imps using them.
I lost track part way through this, so i'll get ripped apart for what I've said most probably ![]()

rip, tear, rip, tear.. LMAO!!! Just kidding! The thing I like the most about the Royal Guard TIE is it has the same stats as a regular TIE intercepter except for the higher mass. I always thought the intercepter needed higher mass than 50k. True the hitbox is smaller on the JSF, but I think in time you will see less of these quest/EP3 fighters in the skies. As soon as people see that they have started to decay.
Even though decay is currently borked (worst you will get is 10/10 condition) people will start flying these less because sooner or later the decay issue will be fixed. IMHO balance is a goal worth shooting for. If balance is the goal I'm all for it, if NERFing only the JSF is the goal then I say shame on them!
The thing I liked the most about the pilot community is the fact that the most vocal and most experienced pilots tend to have a gentlemens type of relationship even though they may be rivals. This is a nice change compared to the GCW boards or the Jedi/BH flamefests. I hate to see the pilot community fall to those same standards.
JTL is almost a completely seperate game. The problem is, we don't seem to have any Dev's working on our issues. You still can't use the /move up command on the Y-8. Shipwrights got screwed by not getting to craft many of the new ships. there's bug upon bug with missions and such. Why hasn't SOE done more to promote the space game? Where are the capital ships? Where are the iconic space battles? Why is every mission just as unimaginative as the groundgame?
Those are more my concerns currently. I really think that eventually these new ships will become a faded memory due to the fact that they are one-time rewards. I can only hope! What I call for is that every pilot who truly loves to fly in JTL and enjoys PvE or PvP go out on to the pilot boards and post every single bug or suggestion you have to help make JTL better.
Lets get some attention here! Tomo is a really good coorespondent and has no problem getting our suggestions in front of the Dev's (which is the most he can do btw....) . I don't know about you, but I rather see a Mon Cal cruiser come through one of the spacezones than NERF anything. Incorporate the GCW somehow. Boarding spacestations, dcking with your friends ships, and for god's sake bring out the smugglers! Why can't the Star Destroyer move? Where are the Rebel frigates? Where are the large scale space battles?
There's a million things they could have done better, they could have used missions straight out of XWing vs TIE. Space zones are too small right now as well. We need to see JTL become what it should have been.
What could be more "Star Warsey" than seeing a few squadrons of Rebel Players in letter-wing craft protecting a Mon Cal cruiser as it comes under attack while cruising through Tattooine space by 3 squadrons of Imperial players flying TIE variants? That is my dream for JTL. For all I care completely remove the JSF, Greivous, and ARC-170. Bring the GCW into space and lets get some mechanics going so we can actually have squadrons.
Most of us are already in guilds. Not all of our guildies fly. Why not give us another guild-type organization unit. Look at other games in which fighter combat exists. Players need to be able to be organized and communicate easily. All of this is more important to me than another "NERF the JSF thread" which is the whole reason I started this thread. It's time for us to get motivated and organized so the Dev's will listen. Flame threads and unintelligent screaming won't do that. Get your ideas out there, get your opinions on this board, but make sure that you're thinking about all pilots not just your faction.
If Imperials have the "I Win" button in PvP no Rebels will go overt, which means there is no PvP for Imps either. So instead of us thinking what is best for my faction we need to think more along the lines of what is best for all pilots. Use that as a starting point and lets flood the Pilot forums with good ideas, suggestions, and bugs that need fixing.

Yeah, I dropped that re'd reward cert 8 into my TIE heavy to see what it would do... it was pretty impressive for sure. There's one manuevor that I just love which is quite fun especially if you're not wanting to dust a newbie.
Full roll to one side then pull up and in the opposite direction. So you're flying in an upward direction even though your nose is down and to the left. I was orbitting a guy in DS for about 6 minutes and he never even hit my shields. Then of course I just boosted out at 1650 spd.
Sure, it's probably not right to tease people in DS but I felt it was better than blasting him with an overloaded cert 10. Rather come to the forums and see "Some TIE teased me! NERF IT!" than "Some guy killed me with a cheap shot before I even knew he was there!"
Must agree with Vegitaa. Quit yer whining kids!
The JSF is not the be all end all of the space game. Sure it is very small profile, possibly smaller than an Awing, so yeah, maybe I could see dropping the mass to something like 80k, but what ever, I am unconcerned as I have now scorched 5 different pilots flying the JSF while I was in my non-heavy Xwing. I had a 10k mass advantage and about a 10x profile disadvantage, and yet I still won without even much of a fight. Hell 3 of them even snapped off the first shot and they still were dust. If I went up against someone like Oishii or Psikobunny in one, I would be concerned and probly annihilated, but the fact of the matter is, similar with Awings and Interceptors, a pilot must still be good to use these things effectively.
Only one thing about the Guard TIE Fighter bothered me in that engagement. I watched that damned thing turret. By which I mean it spun on axis in flight while moving at full throttle. Now, for some perspective on my ire.
WAAAYY the hell back when, I was in the JTL beta, and I remember in the last two weeks when they threw inertia into the mix that turreting became a crucial issue, which is why sweet spots were added to the maneuvering in the mid speed range. What I saw this past weekend was a CG TIE Fighter at full throttle, pulling the same kind of maneuver that our ships did in the high inertia test during the Beta.
Lemme make clear, I'm not flaming or hating on any pilot that uses these things, I'm irked about mechanics issues. We were told back then that turreting was being prevented because it created a gross gameplay imbalance to allow ships that kind of vectoring in forward thrust and spin on axis maneuvering precisely because of the kind of performance I saw in that TIE.
Not that the TIE itself shouldn't be fast, or a hot stick for maneuverability, but ultra-inertial is a bit much.

One question on the Heavies, do they have the same stats as the JSF for YPR? Reason I ask, is I remember the JSF having 10.4 YP / 5ish R on the chassis window, and my Heavy TIE has 8.4 YP / don't remember the R at the moment. I'll double check the heavy stats later today when I log in (can't double check the JSF as I have to regrind a few more times before I launch it again), but 10.4 =/= 8.x. Did they get tweaked, or do I have a defective TIE?
It's not so much a YPR issue (as the new RG TIE has the same stats as the original...) the guy you were going up against definately had one of the newer player crafted engines or one of those new reward cert 8's. Mine came out to 104.6 speed with a 75 YPR at 24.4k mass. Pile Engine Overload 4 on top of that and you can pull some serious turns I have found that in certain circumstances I have been almost cockpit to cockpit with an AWing in my standard intercepter and ws able to hit almost the front of the enemy.
That is even more prominant with the new reward ships than it is in the RG TIE. Needless to say, there's some serious stats going on right there, but I attribute them more to the Engine and the Droid programs (droid programs have been busted since day 1 mind you.)

One of the 2 RG TIEs that night had a lvl 8 RE'ed engine, did not use one of the new reward 8s. Engine mighthave had a top speed of 84, YPR somewhere around 75-83 range (can't remember exact). I collected and built it for him, I might not be the best pilot or SW, but I love when my creations cause sensations
