I've seen this before and a friend had this happen last nite. I always assumed it was just really powerful regen shields in back so that it forced you to "joust" and do a series of head to head runs to hit it's front shields instead of just getting on it's tail and pounding away. Hmm. Than again, I was helping someone grind xp (I'm a Master Freelance) and we came across a Tier 3 Rhyk that just took FOREVER to kill, it was insane.
