While not recommended by some of the more seasoned pilots, you could always upgrade/downgrade to a Heavy Tie. With 95k mass that ship will let you load just about everything you need to do these missions solo.
A Heavy TIE will not cut it with this mission. The single gun slot simply does not put out the damage needed to destroy the gunboat before it despawns. The TIE Advanced is the way to go.
You could have a good point there. Of course if you make full use of bomber strike then that gunboat does not stand a chance against you no matter what ship you are flying. Just target its engines and disable then pull the fighters out of range while the gunboat sits there on a countdown to self destruct.

He's only 4443, so he can't use CtSS4. 3 will have to do.

Boxes trained have nothing to do with what droid commands you can use. Your only limitation is what you can fit into your astromech/flight computer.
yes but limited to a v4 flight comp he will only have 70 storage. i would try to work the loadout so that after wo3 he will have enough free power to use eo3. then for the droid he would load eo3 wo3 co2 and ctss3.

I'm not familiar with the numbers involved, but I am absolutely certain that a v4 Flight Computer will hold RO3, EO3, CO3, WO3, and CtSS4. I've got two of them (one is an astromech) loaded with that exact set-up right now.

not possible. v4 = 70 space. ro3 eo3 co3 wo3 and ctss4 = 105 space. that has to be either a v5 or v6.

I would suggest your numbers are wrong, then. Because either every FC I touch is bugged, or your information is out of date.

if you have those programs loaded, then its not a v4.
a v4 will definatly hold CO3, RO3, WO3, EO3 and CtSS4. I have had many, and it a standard loadout I tell all the pilots in my guild to run. Maybe you need to defrag your flight comp>?

I just went and looked, I was wrong about a v4 not taking more than 5 level 3 programs ... it has 110 space, not 100 as I thought. This means you could not only use CtSS4, but bump one of the overloads to 4 (but I wouldn't recommend it) or add the "mute droid" command if you have one and it's annoying you too much...
