I believe it. I got credit once while I was waiting for the vette to spawn. No joke. And I know it wasn't up, I'd checked the routes. I was helping a guy kill ships nearby when we got my mission successful message, surprised the heck out of me.

To the original poster - frankly, don't be a weeny. Jump in there and attack that vette. You don't deserve that Ace badge if you can't be bothered to attack it yourself. You don't have to solo it, but what's the point in sitting way off? So you can brag about a badge you didn't earn?

its like this, if you are in a group that is killing the vette, you only have to somewhat near it in kessel.OR you can find another group that is attacking it, do at least 1% of dmg to a system, and just stay somwhat close to it.

nah i actually did the duties and stuff when jtl came out but i got bored real quick. and back to the vette question, i had to go afk before the fight *couldn't be helped crap came up* when i came back i had ace

Really, I don't think you have to hit it. It's hard to tell exactly when you'll get credit and when you won't, though, so I've kept the FAQ erring on the side of caution when it comes to this issue.
