I'm not certain, but why risk it? Can't you be bothered to launch one missile at SOME subsystem during the entire fight? Hell, blast out the engines, nothing will hurt you back there.

But to answer your question, no you actually don't. My first Ace worked like that for me... my Ace helper flew inand attacked, and in the few moments that I was running from the gunboats he took out the entire Corvette. It was over before I knew what had happened (there's a joke to be had there).

I wouldn't call the engines the easiest target (unless the gunboats are taken out first), I'd say weapons 6 and 7 since they don't seem to shoot.

My friend was in Kessel with the Ace mission, but she was not in the group that attacked the Corvette. She was over 5K away when they destroyed it and she still got credit. I kid you not.

You have to hit AND damage the vette. Which means you need to be involved in the attack on the Vette.

Honestly im not 100% sure either way anymore. But im leaning more onto the side of, no you don't. I probably wrote in my guide that you do. Probably better that you do out of princpile of nothing else, after all, it is your vette for mastery

You don't I have 2 situations that proved it.

#1: I arranaged a massive 2 group (8 aces 8 4444's) attack on the vette. We waited almost 3 hours and in that time my friend fell asleep at the keyboard. We got the vette down to the bridge and after a few mins of no tells and no IM responses I gave the OK for the last person to finish it off. Well turns out everyone got credit even him. I went back to the recruiter and got my msg congratulating me on my 20 kills....... Somehow I had forgotten to take the vette mission, DOH!

#2: I went to Kessel later that week to get my well deserved badge. I started a group of stragglers that asked if I was going to hit the vette. My wife came in and said she wanted to go out to eat with that look in her eye saying "If you say LATER cause of SWG you'll regret it." So I made someone leader and flew off about 2k and went afk in space. I came back and scrolled back and I got credit for the kill.
