Theres a bug that effects the rebel corvette and keeps it from spawning, so it may apply to the imp vette as well.

Has two gunboat escorts?

A guy told me a few days ago that if the gunboat escorts are not killed, sometimes they get stuck somewhere, and the corvette spawn becomes broken. I was told the gunboats stuck or spawned or traveling right on top of each other, and you cant miss it when you see it.
Kill those he said, and the corvette should spawn properly.

It's pretty obvious they don't have enough resources. We have to wait when then new recruited resources are trained then I think we can get more attention beside Dev's top priority issues.

The fact that it was patched so much in the beginning is really not an indication of SOE doing a good job. If SOE had done a good job they would not have needed to patch JTL every other day.

Lets face it, SOE is throwing one thing after the other at us in an effort to keep some people interested in this game. The trouble is they are in such a rush to get new things out they dont take time to make them work properly! Battlefields, Smuggler, Jedi crystal tuning, and now you can no longer progress as a pilot because of their latest patch! The next thing will be the combat upgrade and that will be borked but instead of being fixed they will work on the GCW and that will be borked but instead of fixing it we will get something else.

Have you ever played a MMORPG before? Release and Patch is SOP. You might as well get used to it.

That's SOP for practically all software. Not just MMORPGs.

Yes release and patch is SOP for games and other software but where is the line drawn? Is it ok for software companies tocharge you money forpoor code that does not work and then have them fix it later? Is it ok for people to pay 30 bucks for JTL plus their 15 per month and not be able to progress in a chosen profession because of poor coding? More and more software companies are releasing unfinished code and making this SOP (rollercoaster tycoon 3 is a perfect example), because you the paying customer are not complaining about it.

What is their motivation to fix anything? Why should they fix the jedi tuning issue? Why fix smuggler? No one uses battlefields so why fix those? JTL is not seeing many players so lets move on to the combat upgrade. If the combat upgrade is borked lets move on to the GCW!

When does SOE stop and fix the current issues before releasing more?

In case you hadn't noticed the devs have promised the CURB since WAY before JTL released. So your point of why they dont fix issues before releasing new things is kind of right and kind of wrong. Right because, yes they should have fixed combat, given Smugglers some lovin, and added GCW content before adding JTL. On the other hand JTL was supposed to be part of the original package of the game. Now we have JTL (which works great in my opinion, please specify how it is borked) This gives those who were barely sticking around something to do while they work on the CURB and GCW upgrades, which if I am not mistaken are now supposed to come out at the same time. This game has been fun for me since I got into it (march 2004) and things were "borked" then. IF you hate it so much, quit paying for it, come back when the CURB goes live, and if it still sucks, then cancel permanently. You are not being forced to pay for it, and as otehrs here have pointed out, it is SOP for MMORPG's. A game like this that MUST constantly evolve in content, and is dependant on infinite factors (i.e. original coding, people finding exploits, thousands of different people playing, etc etc etc) The developers cannot foresee every outcome of every action they take, nor can you. They will inevitably bork something while fixing something else....live with it.

Do you know why companys are releasing late beta stuff for people like you to complain about though? Because if they didnt you would be complaining right now that they missed thier target release date again. either way coustomers complain. They always will. take it from someone who works in retail.
Now, if you want to try your hand at doing better then do it. learn to program, make a game that is as complex as SWG, EQ, WoW, or anything thats out there right now. then come back and complain if you want to.

I've never understood this attitude - to me, this is the equivalent of hiring an electrician to rewire your house and install new outlets, new lights, add some conduit, etc, and when you complain that half the outlets don't have power, 25% of the lights don't work, and that new conduit you wanted isn't really installed, the electrician says "go out there and get trained as an electrician before you complain about my workmanship."

This is about the end quality of the product, pure and simple. When I buy something off of the shelf, I expect it work well right out of the box. I should have to wait for month before the manufacturer gets around to fixing the item in question, even though it was released to market. Think about the smuggler profession - 18 months its been all but ignored, yet it was included in the game from the first day of release.

I think if people are dissatisfied with a product, they have every right to complain about it. Its not whining, its expressing frustration at spending good money on a product that isn't in the finished state it should have been in before it was released to the masses. And the sad thing is, it takes time to discover how broken a game can be. Really, unless you play a lot (read: have no other life) it could take months to discover the nuances about a game, and months to be bit by some bugs that are out there. Having an unfinished product, with bugs that persist for over a year can be very frustrating, especially when they are profession specific. I really pity the smugglers, rangers, squad leaders, etc - who have been waiting all this time for some real attention only to be shoved back again and again.

If people want to complain, they can. telling them to "learn to program a game of this magnitude before you gripe" is just a silly answer.

I just saw today's patch notes for WoW. They looked ... strangely familiar ... like a thousand players crying out. In fact, they are already doing a rebalance! So much for a perfect game.

Right now, we are going into Christmas. The team is going away on a vacation. Likewise, they have been pushing away at Japanese localization. That's been a big job. Finally, they are coding for the combat revamp.

One last thing, Tiggs says that she KNOWS about the plasma problems and will be playing pounce upon the appropriate individuals. They really want that one fixed.

I know I don't speak for anyone but myself here when I say that MY issue that I take with your outlook is that everything should be 100% right out of the box. I am a General Contractor in RL and no project is "done" by your definition when it is "finished". There are punch-lists that are handled based on priority. With software it is a similar situation only with a game like this it is on a MUCH larger scale than what I do. On top of that I have yet to ever see a game be released that is 100%. Does this mean that the smugglers, et. al should not have been fixed by now? By no means. But to say that the Devs don't work on fixing major issues is foolish. Yes there exist bugs that have existed since launch (sliding anyone?), but they have worked to make sure that the overall game gets better and grows, and it is doing just that.

In fact with thei new aquisitions (TWENTY new Devs, that is HUGE) brought on for specific issues (profession reworking among them) and minor new content while the core team addresses the Combat Upgrade, I would not be surprised if soon the major issues aren't fixed.

Communication has gotten better across the board since JTL has been released and I personally have no reason to doubt with what recent events have shown that this will remain the norm in the future.

That sounds encouraging. When my friend gets his YT1300 it will be nice to be able to go outin it without worrying about getting my arse fried.

As for No Info, No Communication, I would like to see a count of the dev posts in the Combat Rebalance boards. Until I was in the JTL beta, I thought the devs had completely abandoned the community. BUT as soon as I got in the beta there were hundreds of posts from the devs, and not the red names that we see all the time. As I said, I would like to see a weekly count of the number of posts in the beta boards, no detail, but it would show that there in some stuff going on behind the scenes.

It's been out what, 2 months or more?

And it's already lacking content for anyone at the Master Pilot level.

It is the ground game.

I laugh at the lacking content statement.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

There are plenty of ships to kill. There is kessel. There is Black Sun. You mean there is no series of missions or mission terms to hold you by the hand, don't you? Frankly I've been master for well over a month now and still go up nightly for some serious killing of difficult targets.

I've mastered with 2 chars. Come back when you have.

After master you either:

1) Nonstop loothunt in either Kessel or random gunboat spots......with 500 other people

2) Do endless black sun missions (or a camp spawn spot)attempting to get a helmet

3) Help random lower lvl pilots (most fun I normally have now)

4) PvP in the god aweful, 1 shot, 1 skill PvP system.

5) Cheauffer people around in your bugged out MP ship.

This isn't as much of an expansion, as it is an add on. Don't get me wrong, I like JTL. But it's just sad thata PC- SWG spaceFPS has more diversive content than a MMORPG expansion. I mean come on, the ISD's aern't even over Tattoine that you see from any point on the ground. There's no epic battles.....quests?.....and your reward for mastering is a endless amount of unuseable prestige points (which are now so high on my counter they actually cut off), a bugged MP ship, and more of the same that you did....since Tier 1.

There is no storyline. No continuation. No content. It's been 2 months, check around pal, I'm by far not the only one referring this to 'quenkers in space' already.
