Actually it's the tier 1 heavy variant, its certed at 1000. The other pilot profs get thier heavy ship at the nov box, imps still have to do their first 4 nov missions in a starter ship ![]()
Unless I have a dodgy chassis...

They may have changed it - I know the first time I tried to use a Heavy TIE I couldn't cert it until Tier 1.

Now Leaph. You know lots of people say the same thing about the B-wing. I hope you know differently now.

Attla here may be the pilotto turn that way of thinking around for the Aggressor. I would love to see one in pvp myself.
Actually, a gunner can be very effective as a surprise tactic, for example, I have engaged nubships in my Ywing deuce where both my gunner and I fire forward at the initial pass, then I do a little bit fo dogfighting with the gunner firing fully forward. Then i disengage and rocket away. Once at a distance, I match the speed of my enemy and slow down very slightly. At this point he doesnt realise im a deuce, so he follows me directly behind making an easy target and my gunner opens up when he is in range, BOOM, dead nubship. And a low level type screaming how cool space PvP is!

I have fallen completely and totally for the above ruse when going against an Agressor (which i thought was an Advance DOH!). I wish the little target picture was a little brighter at times. *sighs*

The Heavy Tie is at 1000, the other Heavy are in Novice.
Its with they're being to catergories of Tie, the Heavy got classed as the Tier 1 Tie.

To the OP:
I fell in love with the tie advanced as well, I think it's a sweet handling ship and it's low mass really teaches you a thing about mass management, I know the interceptor is lower mass but fitting 2 guns and a good pvp loadout in the advanced has really inspired me to rethink my a-wing setup amongst other things.
And as for the heavy tie, one of the established space pvp'ers on radiant was able to almost rip my JSF in half twice in deep space using a heavy tie and only tier 1 weapons (he was practicing for a big space event where everyone is bringing tier one weapons to space) if I didn't have a wingman with me I think I'd have been toast.
I would just fly what you feel confident flying, don't let anyone else tell you what to do, take some advice from them but don't take what they say as 100% gospel, some people will tell you the firespray is flying hunk of junk but I love mine, whereas I will tell people that the b-wing is like flying a brick with engines but I have flown with pilots who can handle that thing better than any ROTW high mass fighters I own.
