The amount of combat skill necessary to complete Jabba's themepark is very minor. I did it with only parts of Novice Marksman under my belt, solo, unbuffed and unarmored. My complaint was having to stop and do Jabba's themepark, when I really don't like Jabba, just because I wanted to be a true neutral. Not that it required a tiny bit of combat.

Have any friends? Any one friend at all? It's not a big deal.

Now that is a valid complaint. I don't quite see why you need to work for Jabba if you don't want to.

I am not "whining" and I should not have to read patch notes, the trainer that sends you to Jabbas should give you this information. Also there is no reason Jabba should trust me after waxing his men through tier 2.

You are whining. You want to be a member of the smuggler alliance? Grow up a little please.

And please, read the content before you start complaining (whining)about it.

What? This is the worst argument I've seen yet. Do you thoroughly enjoy your job in real life? Most people don't, and there ain't a lot you can do about it. You go where the creds are, kiddo - suck it up and drive on. I can't believe I'm even responding to this whole thread - theres a ton of legitimate issues out there that need to be addressed first.

Related question - I started on the Alliance pilot tree out of Moenia (Vortex Squadron) with a character that is neutral on the ground.

I'm about to start on Teir 2, and have to go to the base on Dantooine for it, but I can't get in since I'm not a rebel on the ground.

When I go to land on Dantooine now, there's an option to receive special landing permissions if I do a job for the guy at the space station. Will this get me into the rebel base? And if so, will the trainer talk to me if I'm not factioned? I'd like to avoid joining up with this character if possible, but will if necessary. I figure I can get his pilot skills to where I want them and then resign his commission since I won't need access to trainers anymore at that point.

Thanks in advance.

if you do that mission then you can land at the rebel base and take off from it too, but the mission is over an hour long and filled with tier3 ties, as a 1111 pilot i doubt you can solo it. you will most likely need a group for this.

Thanks!

I don't have alot of sympathy I'm afraid.

Since Smugglers have to have combat the theme park isn't a problem for us.

Being a Smuggler I'm REALLY pissed that the SA is even available to non-smugglers. (and yes, I've heard the devs explanations in JTL beta about SA only meaning you're running errands for them...still pisses me off)

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Two years of "Soon"(TM), a harsh bunch of lies.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie"

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Dancers can't smuggle and neither can I.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Why are there Jedi, I don't know why.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

You need to work for Jabba, because Smuggler's Alliance works for Jabba. They also work for Lady Valerian, and so you work for Lady Valerian. I can't think of any interesting character in SW that wasn't sponsored or employed by somebody, at one time or another.

This is Star Wars, not Star Fluffy Bunnies. Not Star Homebodies. Jabba's isn't much of a combat challenge at all, and you can always bring help. Go ahead and get away from your crafting station for a bit, get a tan, and have fun with it. It'll be good for ya.

(or hire a combatant, or do the Station mission to unlock Jabba's landing field...)

Eceen - Yeah they should give a heads up that ya need the themepark to continue, but its no big deal. You can either A) Get a single person to help you for an hour while you do the entire jabba's themepark (surrendering skills would be a silly idea), or B) Surrender your SA pilot skills and select one of the other 2 neutral branches (being as you obviously hate jabba). Either way its just not really an issue. /shrugs

I said it was a valid complaint, not an issue that needs resolved. I didn't mind working for Jabba so I had no issue there. If I did then obviously I'd have to find a way around it and much like real life you do have an option to quit and go work for someone else.
