wait wait... how is a Dune Lizard anything like a JSF??? the only thing similar is the 2 gun mounts and the mass is similar...

but the PYR top speed and the size of the ship are totally diffrent...

and there is no turning give on the 2 RoTW fighter ships... i like the Scyk alot better then my grievious ship. it handles better.

I did CorSec with a Dunelizard. I only needed help on one (maybe two)Tier 4 mission(s) and the Corvette.

I must mention that I play on Starsider, so I have access to our Pilot Correspondent as my shipwright. He made my Dune chassis, as well as every crafted component in my ship, and he re-engineered every RE component in my ship.

My only complaint is, unlike him, I was not patient enough in finding 5 fantastic lvl 6 engines to combine with my pre-nerf lvl 6 reward engine (which interestingly enough, I looted from a kill, and not from a mission reward.) Don't have the stats handy, but it has nowhere near the YPR stats that Tomo's has. I'm insanely jealous, and I hate myself for not waiting to find better stats to RE that thing with.

That said, the Duney is in the barn while I have fun with the unbalanced JSF.

The secret to my success was my wingmate. Met another pilot when we were both still tier one and started flying together. Did almost every SA twice, once for me and once for him. And my dune was equipped with pure loot and rewards until after master, when I actually landed long enough to go shopping. Didn't even get a flight computer until after I got a YT.

I got my Smuggler's Alliance pilot on Kett to Master using a Dunelizard and only using looted parts I found along the way (no crafted, no RE'd, aside from chaff). I did every mission solo except for the Vette.

On TC, I'm working on an RSF freelance, using a Dunelizard and looted parts (again, except chaff). 3433 right now, solo for all but one mission where I enlisted a wingman one or two boxes behind me.

The DL is an awesome ship if you fly it right. Dogfightingis the key with lots of moves to dodge shots. Most people that have trouble with a DL try to use it like a tank.

I just wish I could fit my 9.9 speed looted droid interface into the DL, but it takes up almost 30% of my total mass.

It's all about the equipment and droid programs.

Oh, and you'll need help for any mission that has a gunboat....

... and part of it is skill... I'm not that good, but there are people here good enough to solo just about anything with any pile of junk that can fly....

But it DOES have two gun mounts, and if you're an RE maniac, that makes all the difference in the world.

Mostly correct... The dunelizard is just as fast as the jsf, though (spdx = .95).

The people who can get by using a Dunelizard are either patient in waiting for parts, or have a source of parts other than the pilot with the Duney. The end run with a Duney takes good RE'd parts, to kick your mass/effictiveness ratio up to a point where you can still compete. Can't skimp on much when you want to finish in one, and need to save every ounce of mass you can to fit the needed engine, shield and weaponry in.

I'd say definitely the patient part I fly my Dunelizard through two masters. I justlove the thing. Best balance of any starfighter I've flown so far (bar the Grevious, which is a dunelizard on crack, ie perfect). But I spent a long time between the last two Tier 4 missions caching parts.

Mass is a little tight, compared to other Freelance ships, but not compared to TIEs.

I run with the level 6 engine, level 8 shield and two REd level 7 blasters. I can fit in a Mark III concussion launcher and chaff, so I'm not really skimping.

Did I mention I love the Dunelizard?

I just logged for the night, however tomorrow when I log in i'll give you a run down of my current DL setup. And yes i'm very patient for parts, parts are your life or death in space. A Chassis will modify the engine a bit but everything else depends upon your equipment. Also You HAVE to use your flight comp, and atleast a V4. Run Reactor overload 3 Engine overload 3 Weapon capacitor overcharge 3 Weapon overload 3 and Cap to shield shunt 3. Some people use CtSS 4 but I like 3 because I can keep fireing. Also I never said I did it solo, I had 2 freinds along one in a TIE/IN and one in a Interceptor. Both survived.
