I think your embellishing your emotions a wee bit. While the RGI's hitbox is about the same size or even a hair smaller then a JSF, it is not half the size of the JSF's hitbox. It does however, only cover half of the ball.

And the A wing isn't "sopposed" to be anything.

If you want to pick on ships, pick on ALL of the freaking ROTW ships because each and every one of the turned PvP upside down from how PvP was before ROTW.

-------------------------------

See generally speaking, what gets me is this:

Some of the people (no one in specfic, just generally) who complain about the RGI, yet ironically are out spinning around in their JSF. Hoooo kay. Both of ships have skewed balance. Both are guilty, just in different ways, and yes, both are killable. So suppose i leave the RGI in the hanger? Next on my list is an oppressor. I'll bet 10 to 1 odds that after dying multiple deaths, the same people will be here yelling about how it should be nerfed, and how they refuse to fight against them.

I fly an A-wing (well currently grinding SA pilot. once i figure out how to complete a mission). I have yet to die from a JsF. JsF is absolutly over rated. Not only that but most will not balance it properly with the additional 15k mass that it has as opposed to the a-wing.

Yes I am slanted in my view point (A wing yay, everything else boo), but being able to hit only the top half of a RGI. Makes it a half a hit box.

JsF die really really easy in my A-wing.........

Ultimatly any ship, is only as good as its pilot. If you have a rookie in a JSF, you still have a rookie ship.

>>Yes I am slanted in my view point

At least you admit it Looking over your guilds ad on the valcyn PA thread, my guess is you guys are hardcore factional fanboy's that hate everything and everyone Imperial. If thats true, i'm fine with that, just don't play hardball with me in space. I can be an ugly b*stard when properly motivated and I'd like to leave that uglier nastier side behind me.

Ohh, you missed what I said. I won't fight against a RGI. (currently). Ill just hyper-out. Now if your in the JsF, BRING IT OWN!!! (even at my current SA teir 3 level :-P). We don't hate...... Not really.......Fanboy is up for debate. :-P Anything other then the RGI i'll fight against and lose honorably (I very very rarely lose). And either way you get my trade mark saying "Good match!"

Any RGI's attacking in Deep Space get a complimentary epulse 3 as a first strike - and from a krayt withany sort of semi-decent shields/capacitor that's a one-shot.

Fight fire with fire.

You guys realize missles work dont you?

Infact, i hear some folks have been having good success with space bombs and protons beleive it or not.

As to any moral highground arguments, please. Eventually the RGI will be fixed, but the lamers with EP3 will *ALWAYS* exist. So please put a lid any self rightous rhetoric. See, thats what i dont get here. Yes the RGI is something of an "i win" situation for that particualr ship if your not using missles against it. Yet, privateers have an I win button no matter what they fly.

Anyway, im not defending the RGI, just pointing out the hipocracy.

Fought a PVP tournament a few weeks ago. Faced a decent pilot in a JSF, novice pilot in a vanilla Interceptor, and a very good pilot in an IGI. Beat them all.

  1. vs JSF = two or three minutes, one concussion missile, one blaster hit

  2. vs Interceptor = less than a minute, two blaster hits

  3. vs IGI = four or five minutes, two concussion missiles, one or twoblaster hits

I really didn't find the IGI any harder to hit than the JSF. I was just up against a better pilot, with better equipment, who used Cap to Shield Shunt. I maneuvered into a top-down attack on the ball, took down his rear shields with a Concussion, and eventually he was vapour.

*shrug* I don't see how a smaller hitbox is any more unbalanced than a light fighter with 90k mass and two gun mounts and insane YPR. At least the IGI doesn't ruin the immersion factor.

We moaned about the JSF when it first started showing up in PVP. Now we know how to take it down. Adapt and overcome, right?

...... And I was kinda defending the JsF, by saying it was overrated...... Hell, I would own one, if I could bring myself to go Imperial, I did try to trade an ARC-170 for one, but no go.....

My personal advice with the JsF is to outfit an A-wing first and tweak it till you can't tweak it anymore. then put that equipment into the JsF and find you a new weapon (and maybe level 1 armor also!).

If I stayed in one spot in my A-wing, for you to get a target lock long enough, to get a missle off. I FAILED AS A PILOT. My feelings personaly...

And yes, adapt and overcome is the correct awnser! I also like the awnser of being smarter and a better pilot then the other guy. :-P Though sometimes hard to pull off.

What I like about space combat so much is the fact that it may not last long, but its intense!

>> And I was kinda defending the JsF, by saying it was overrated.

Theres nothing overrated about a ship that is smaller then a A wing, twice as responsive as a Tie Interceptor, that has enough mass to pack a L8 engine, L8 shield (best starfighter shield in the game btw), and two L7 blasters.

>>If I stayed in one spot in my A-wing, for you to get a target lock long enough, to get a missle off. I FAILED AS A PILOT

Go up against missle oppressors much? I'm just curious since it only takes about a second or so to get missle tone with an IR2.

Wondering if I should even waste my time. I'll never convince you to see another POV.

The problem with responses like "wrong" is that it shows you're not willing to change. This is an MMO, an as such it's constantly evolving. That could be player tactics (moving to L8 REd engines) or additions to the game (ROTW). Bottom line is that the game is going to change.

Refusing to adapt your gameplay just cuts you out of the new content. If you don't want to PVP against ROTW ships, that's fine. I'm not going to make you. But, you can't complain when there's no one around to fight anymore. I'm not saying the the ROTW direction is the right way to go for JTL; I hate what the ROTW ships have done to the space game. But we're not going to see a change to their stats/profiles/hitboxes any time soon, if at all.

Taking your toys and going home isn't going to change the facts. Maybe a better use of your energy is to change your loadout, change your tactics, and actually find ways to beat these things.

That's what I like about JTL... even with the new ships, there really isn't a "composite in space" problem that I can see. JSFs are FOTM right now, but we've worked out ways to counteract their size and manueverability. Maybe we have to start carrying missiles when we expect to encounter an IGI, because that's the quickest way to take one down.

I have done something similar with my Awing since JTL launched. My best engine had similar turn rates, though it tops out at 103.8 speed, making me a bit slower.

Strap on the largest gun that you can fit and a cap to keep up with it (not hard with a single gun so long as the energy per shot is around 13)...LOL
