Forcing unwary players into 2-3 hours of "easy" ground content isn't encouraging grouping, it's encouraging babysitting. It's not flying for the SA or Mr Karrde at all, its wasting time as a groundhog. Cutting off your access to a space mission in a space storyline the moment you find out you need it, cannot be "as intended" especially when compared to the access granted to the other two landing missions.

Part of my reasoning for bringing this up again, is that post CU the theme park won't be as easy, and there should be fair access to all three landing missions anyway. It's a fun and challenging space mission(s), and every time I see someone else bit by this bug, I feel bad because its another nice bit of JtL content that doesn't have to be missed out on. I don't see how pushing to get an obvious bug fixed could be construed as whining.

I love the group aspects of JTL, but so far it's stayed almost entirely separate from the ground game, a condition which most pilots seem to approve of. That one squadron often has to run a ground-based theme park (due to the mechanical problems psiko's laid out so well) just to go on with their pilot progression strikes me as unfair and running counter to the sort of ethos of the space game.

I'll be bringing this up at some point, but like with so many other long-standing bugs and issues we've got going, it's going to have to wait till all the CU/RotW business is smoothed out first. Hope no one finds it too big a hassle in the meantime.

It is certainly something which needs to be addressed however I would like to see some more ground/space interaction in the missions given to you while you are training to master. I'm only 1101 CorSec and very new to the space side of swg but I love the way that, thus far, my missions have followed some sort of storyline, it makes learning the ropes as a pilot even more fun.

The reason I would like to see some more ground/space interaction is because as a pilot my life isnt spent in space. I'm an image designer and aspiring shipwright too, I'd love to see some missions which use your current skills, even if it was a small part of a mission.

There could be combat based missions to let you gain the respect of somebody such as jabba or using your crafting skills to help rescue an NPC who has crash landed who then helps you in a mission to return the favour. Doctors might heal his injuries, weaponsmiths fix his ships weapons, armoursmiths fix the armour, chefs could feed him, tailors give him clothes?! and shipwrights might fix the shield systems.

Would certainly make the pilot experience more immersive for me

Still not sure I get what the "bug" is.

The bug is that for this theme park acess mission, your access to it disappears the moment you find out you need it, when you complete tier2. Compared to the other two themepark acess missions which are available indefinitely to the pilots in those squads. You really think that's "as intended" ?

Theme Park access missions were put in for a reason. So non ground combatant JtL players would not have to go through undue hardship to continue. It's irrelevant whether you think they "should" or not, when, as in this case, the access for one group is limitedby a pretty obvious game error.

Waa! I can't get master pilot in 2 hours! Waa! I might have to make friends and talk to people in game. Waa! In order to finish SA I have to get in the throne room. But, lol, I probably sounded just like that back in October when I found out. I even had to travel by ground to JP. That really sucked... especially since I didn't know what I was doing most of the time and still regularly failed missions.

So many of us have already done it. Quit crying and do it too. Is that fair to all of us who have already dealt with it to let newbs and people changing flying careers have a walk in the park? It's not like it was a big secret at this point. How long has JTL been out now?

Flame away...

Oh and by the way, Jendi had some really good points. I think tailoring things to our templates would add a lot to the game. I would really like to see this game stick around awhile.

You're still missing the point Nooca. It's that the access is broken that is at issue here, Not that there is a workaround readily available. Forcing the "new kids" to do it the way you did smacks of elitism. I want to see a known Pilot bug fixed. I want people to have access to this cool bit of JtL content. Calling people whiners and crybabies (especially if they're not particularly whining) doesn't really add anything to your argument, its just childish.

So if I drop all my pilot skils and start fresh, will my current ship (dunelizard, top components) still be flyable?

You still need to obtain the teir 1 skill to fly your dunelizard, but yes you will be able tokeep the higher level components inside it. (just remember not to unload them before you have the propers skills to reload them)

It is unfortunate this will probably never be fixed.

I too have had this same problem. I was pulling my hair out last night trying to figure out what to do about it. Apparently someone i talked to said they looted (in space)a black access card that he put his name on and was able to enter jabba's palace. I would like to look into this, but really the devs should at least give us a quick fix like that. Also to the people that think that doing a ground mission is easy, when i am combat level 2 and the first mission has combat level 30 mobs, i would have to be at least a novice elite profession to start the theme park missions. That is a little unfair. I guess i will just stop playing JTL until they fix this.....
