1 shot draining the cap? come on, be real. Even if you had an L2 cap with 900 energy capacity with a gun with 36 energy per shot you have 25 shots before your caps drained. Seriously, you can't dodge a head on engagement, even with EO4, you need some more practice.
One more thing i didnt realize until now, is all those cheesy pilot skills no one ever uses like: pump reactor, emergency weapons, repair and replinish, emergency shields, all of a sudden seem to have more practial use without overloads in the picture.
But like i said, this is all conjecture. Even if i do have some valid points ( and i think i do), i dont expect people to concde them. Having your cake and being able to eat it to is hard to give up.

I fly just fine with my overloads. I'm saying sometimes its barely evenough as it is. space combat should feel fast, not slow

That i agree with. I loath the idea of slow gameplay. All im saying is that the problems people complain about, i think could be caused by droid commands. Most PvP and space cases i know really dont want to see damage reduced for many reasons, myself included. (which is why i also mentioned EWS as an alternative)
Personnaly i think the current iteration of droid commands take out of the game, more than what they put into it. The only good thing about them is it makes flying more of a "hands free" affair. Theres alot you don't have to do because of them. Which makes the game easier, but it also removes some of the challenge.

How about you just fly with all the skill you have AND all the tools you have available? The only person that is hurt by droid programs is the person not using them. So just use them. That levels the playing field.

The tools are broken. Well.... I take that back, i think that depends on your point of view of droid commands.
What should they be?
the Doc buffs of space? or a system of ship operation?
I may not like it, but ill concede that they're here to stay. Fixing WO3 is a given, But i really think they're should be a decision as to which ones you run concurrently. Here's an idea that will get alot of ppl hating me... What id you had to choose between EO and WO, but couldnt run both at once? In action making the player choose between speed or firepower. How do you think that would work out?

ok if this is only while in pvp zones that last idea (w or e) might be interesting but in any other pve fights where the NPCs have huge hps and at high tiers can move somewhat fast .. using only one of the 2 you said might make for a long fight.. but pvp would be different .. already fast ships would go with the weapons and slow ships would go for speed hoping to get more shots in before the fast guy 2 shots them but if there is any command changes they would need to be in pvp only or the Devs would have to go back and redo all the npc stats.. unless you think we are way over powered everywhere as is now

Thats a big problem with toying around with droid commands. you have to find a system that will worth for both.
>>already fast ships would go with the weapons and slow ships would go for speed
Nah, id drop my T/I and go back to a T/A and go with EO3 still.
twin L7' blasters
1 blaster = 3000 * 6 = 1800 * .75 =1350
1350 * 2 guns = 2700 damage.
Assuming bandit has an RE'd L8 shield is 2555 F/B. First hit and im already into the armor. 2nd hit im into the systems for sure. Any lesser shield and i still eat him for lunch.

People are only crying because they dont jink. they just do predictable, slow smooth turns to try and get someone in their sights. "OMG HE KILLED ME IN 2 HITS HOW?! I WAS SPINNING CUZ IT'S A GOOD TRICK CUZ ANAKIN SAID SO!!!"

I do, i think their cheese on a stick(but thats obvious)
To clarify, I don't want to see use of Droid Engineer produced droids taken away. I believe in the interdependent economy, I believe that not just shipwright should provide the gear you need to run a good ship. Broken programs, programs where any semblence of cost is negated, sure trash them. But speaking as a bigtime DE, Luke would never have made it to the end of the trench without Artoo, and in this MMO, DEs make the droids, not like a single player game where its taken for granted. If you're gonna gnaw at a new system, then you need to at least consider taking the good parts from the old one. The CU is dumbing down crafting enough, please don't push to add to that.

Let me get you to address these pointsnow Ducimus:
- In every PvP damage reduction beg thread, you and I are on the same side against it. One of our main arguments is that current PvP is skill over equipment. Justify for me how you can advocate a change that would seemingly make equipment more important? I'm not trying to call you out, I just want to point out this inconsistency in your statements and get your take on it.
- Also please address the fact that this would raise the bar for the new PvP entrant (in my mind). Where do we draw the line? I prefer skill over gear, in most encounters, but I'm not opposed to rewarding hard work and good crafting either. Straight out removal of overloads seems like it would push an "I win" button in too many cases...
- Can you give a fair shake to the idea of fixing existing programs, implementing fair costs, and restricting free and easy access cross faction? Why do you feel thats less valid than reviving the E/W/S system? I myself would prefer to fix what's there if possible, and I want you to convince me its impossible to fix.

I think we need ti wait to see what it's like after they fix WO3.
