tell me about it, first one i fought was the worst flying ship id ever seen. i think he had a crafted engine and didnt know about droid commands. i spent the next 10min righ on his tail pouring blaster fire into his ship, and nothing regestered. for a few minutes he was fllying STRAIGHT!!! no manuvering at all! and i STILL MISSED EVERY SHOT.

finaly i hit him though, and i imediatly landed to mount a missile rack. now every rgi i find overt gets a mkII spacebomb compliments the alliance.

And that is why i make a point to carry a CM launcher on every ship i fly.

good luck getting your chaff off in time when im at less than 100m when i launch. with the latency involved, i doublt even if you hit the buton INSTANTLY when you got the launch warning would it do you any good.

the latency counts both ways. the server has to send you the signal that theres a missile pointed at you, and then your client has to tell the server you launched chaff.

Same here. my current Ahazi space pvp record stands at 80-2, mostly because pvp in deepspace is 1v1, at times I've been 2v1 but the opfore ships are both X-Wings. Ahazi now has quite a few Rebels flying JSFs all the better imo cuz I love shooting them down.

Anyway one of my pvp losses was to a YT-1300, he launched 2 Image Rec 2's at me, and they got thorugh my chaff. I have noticed single tubes never take me down, and chaff seems to work on them everytime. My other pvp loss was to a buddy of mine while my main was rebel, he got me good in my A-wing.

To creaturetaimer too -

Dont take this as a personal attack but really, when you use a bugged (assuming it is bugged, who knows with SOE) ship, can you really say "Hey im 80-2 kills in PvP"? I know a few Imps who flew them in PvP without knowing about their near invulnerability, then stopped flying them when they found out about it. Doesnt it take the fun out of killing another player when you are pretty much invulnerable to most ships main armament?

Honestly, i wish they'd fix it and have it over with.

While some may argue it my logic is wrong, i feel more or less compelled to fly the stupid thing in PvP for various reasons. None of which have anything to do with its skewed hitbox. Non the less, every time i go up in it, i feel a little dirty.

As PvP itself goes, trust me, when your flying that ship, YOU KNOW when you got hit, and you KNOW when you didnt get hit, regardless if any damage occurs or not. I've scored a alot of kills in an RGI, and ive only acutally gotten hit about 4 times total. In those 4 times, no damage occured because it the hit wasnt at the top of the ball. Point is, while i know 90% of the kills ive made in that ship were legitimate wins, the fact that the hitbox is skewed overshadows it all.

/agree

I prefer to fly it over the jedi starfighter because theres more challenge (PvE) but if imgoing to PvP ill take the advanced since its not bugged

Hurry and fix it SOE!

If this "hitbox" thing is going to be "fixed" (or removed, since it seems like they intended it this way), then there needs to be something done to the RGI to make it in line with the Vaksai and Advanced X-wing.

The Vaksai already is more maneuverable than the RGI. It ALSO carries 150k in mass, even though it has the same amount of gun(s) and ordnance. The adv. x, while not as maneuverable or as fast, carries 180k in mass and can hold three guns. If the RGI is "fixed" as you all suggest, then it is screwed and is not much of a useable option, PvP or PvE.

The "invincibility factor" is what makes the RGI in-line. While I agree it is pretty drastic, I don't agree that it should be COMPLETELY removed. Maybe if the hitbox was expanded a tad so that it still retains some invincibility but has a larger zone that can be damaged, then it might be more in-line with the others.

If this factor is to be removed completely as you all suggest, then the RGI should at least get INCREDIBLE maneuverability and/or possibly a speed BONUS (like 1.1x or 1.15x) that interceptors SHOULD get, or it should get the same stats as a Vaksai. Another option would be adding just a little more mass (maybe up to 110-120k) and having a second gun option.

Personally, I'd much rather have the RGI be a hypermaneuverable fighter with a slight speed bonus than an invincibility factor.

Uh...dude.

Fixing the hitbox wouldn't make the RGI worthless. It would make it a TIE Interceptor with 80k mass instead of 50k. How is that worthless?

I'd give my left nut for a 2nd gun in that ship.

Halcyn-

Please read the rest of my post regarding it's competitiveness with the "equivalents," the Vaksai and Adv. X-wing.

While that makes it better than an interceptor, it doesn't make it as good as the Vaksai or Adv. X-wing. Please read posts completely before starting an argument. Thank you!
