Why couldn't they have put just one more weapon slot in the Firespray, a master level ship?

As it is, the X-wing outguns the Firespray, as do the Kimogila and Rihxyrk, all of which are lower than master level ships. I'm not talking missiles here, just regular guns- honestly, having one extra missile slot is no big deal. As a master level ship, with 210k mass, you'd think you should be able to stack some decent armament in the Firespray and make it a killer ship (at least in PVE). I'd be thrilled if the devs decided to trade off one of the missile slots for one more gun slot.

The X-wing doesn't unless you make it a gunship with 3 lvl 8 RE'd reward guns and use the 30k that remains for all the other parts, making you slow and lightly armored. The Kimogila and Rihkxyrk don't have the Firesprays handling.

Even though the Firespray has greater mass than the ships listed above (and therefor, you can install higher damage guns), the damage output (which actually works out to be about the same or worse than the other ships when you add up the figures) does not outweigh the negatives associated with the ship's lack of manoevreability. I'd love the Firespray to be more manoevreable too, but I don't want to be too picky here.

Then put in a better engine.

The Krayt is arguably the best ship in the game, and why shouldn't the Firespray be able to compete with it?
Honestly, Boba and Jango Fett would have never been satisfied with just the two weapon slots.

It is for PvE, but some ship is going to be the best unless you make all the stats the same and just give us different skins to fly with, who would want that.

Who else would like this change (not that it'll ever happen)?

Not me, all the ships are pretty balanced in terms of damage output vs handling and mass.

Trying to twist my words into schoolyard level commentary won't get you anywhere in arguing your position. I've stated that basically I find your idea unclear, and ill-explained. You're not clear as to whether you mean in PvP, PvE, or in loot competition. It sounds like you're beggin for an advantage in the latter, and thats honestly not a driving reason to change a ship.

I'm countering your examples with my personal experience, ymmv. The point several of us are trying to make, without putting you down, is that there are lots of valid ways to improve your performance. Changing ship chassis is something done rarely since launch, and only to correct glaring inequities.

The KSE has already had a once over by the way, and I think if the Devs felt your idea had merit, it would have happened then. Besides, if they change them, it would more than likely happen the same way as last time, and all extant KSEs would get the shaft. Makes your proposal even less desirable.

That's what all these threads turn out to be. I don't know why I ever bother posting my opinions. In game, everyone seems to agree with me. I come in here and I just get a lot of hot air and posturing.

Let me put it this way. The Firespray is the ship most people drool over. It's the rarest and by far the most expensive ship. It should be a force to be reckoned with, it should meet and even exceed expectations- and not simply be just another ship that's about equal to others.

Actually, I'm talking about all three areas.

In PVP, the Firespray compares poorly with other ships because of its large profile or 'hit box', if you will, and because its accel., decel. and PYR rates are slower than most chassis that people prefer to use in PVP. I haven't tried it out in PVP yet, and I don't know if I'm ever going to bother. I'll stick to the A-Wing and X-wing, thank you very much.

In PVE, well, you're right that one has very little difficulty killing NPC ships of any kind in this ship. But the same can be said for just about any ship in this game with the right equipment and know-how. The problem, as I see it, is with the speed (and effort) associated with acquiring said kills. The Firespray is less manoeuvrable than other smaller fighters, and it is therefore inherently more difficult to stay on the tails of opposing fighters. I believe, to make up for this deficiency, an extra weapon slot would make up the difference. With an extra gun, I'd be more inclined to use this ship in PVE than my other ships. Maybe in PVP too.

As for loot competition, see my argument for PVE. Lowered manoeuvrability should be made up for with added firepower if you wish to compete with other fighters.

I understand that people swear by this ship and use it as your "go-to", but I know far more players who opt to use their tier 3 or 4 ships instead. Believe it or not (I say this because I think the impression is that I'm whining because I want equipment that will make up for a lack of piloting skill) I'm actually a very good pilot who rarely takes more than shield damage in PVE, and has a near-perfect record in PVP. I hate tooting my own horn, but I just want to emphasize that my argument does not stem from wanting equipment that will do the job for me, but rather I would like the Firespray to be a ship worth its cost and reputation.

Not necessarily. Lots of changes have been made to the game based on costumer feedback. Hey, you never know.

Drop a pair of level 10 loot weapons in it, RE them when you get a good set together, and stop complaining.

If you know you're going to get flamed, and don't like it, why did you make this post?

Personally, I like the fact that every ship in the game is different. Each has it's strengths and weaknesses, and since there is no overwhelming favourite (well, perhaps the Kryat, which everyone loves) that shows that the balance of the ships are just right.

Yes, the Firespray has it's weaknesses, but with a good engine andin the right hands, it can be amazing. I've seen them solo vette and I've been shot down by them too. Just like in RL, each ship can fill a certain niche better than others and I find myself constantly switching ships to fit a role.

Adding an additional hardpoint is not going to make it better.. try to convince someone who soloed the vette in the A-wing.

People shouldn't have to get flamed in a civil world, mon ami. I soloed the vette in my X-wing. Does that count?

Why do you suppose everyone loves the Krayt? Because it -is- exactly what I'm arguing that the Firespray should be more like. What's the main difference between these two ships? Guns. They're almost exactly the same in all other respects.

If you want a ship like the Krayt, then fly a Krayt. That is our point. Making every ship identical is pointless. The KSE doesnt have as much firepower as a heavy gunship (the Krayt) because it isn't a heavy gunship.
