I applaud everyone who can solo it. And it proves to those whiners who want it easy that they are just bad at the game. I have no problem with soloing. But I do have a problem with people who want everything toned down because they don't want to put effort into being a real pilot, or interacting with people in a multi-player enviroment.
Much respect to all my true pilot brethern out there!

I like soloing the missions because they're challenging and fun. In my first pilot profession, I got alot of help (from ace pilots) and the missions seemed pretty boring. Enemy fighters would get wiped out in seconds. There's no sense of danger. The problem is that I think the missions were designed to be soloed (by skilled and well-equipped pilots that is...). Mission spawns do not scale to the group's level so the missions become too easy for a group.
So I started soloing and so far I've soloed Black Epsilon, RSF, Crimson Phoenix, and Havoc Squadron (different toons from different servers). Next on the list: Storm Squadron.

I would disagree. The thing about the missions is, that is definitely challenging to a new player who doesn't go find out what to expect. And most new players don't go out of thier way to find RE'd/uber parts for their ships (new player=less money). But after the first mastering, it does get very easy.

Some people did not buy the game to solo everything. When I bought JTL it wasn't about mastering pilot or soloing a squadron, it was about the adventure. Not everyone has the money to buy the equipment or has the skill to solo so I dont see why people who can't solo are "whiners," They seek help or advice from more experienced players and thats what I "thought" this game was about.

People who want to solo everything and say "it's too hard" and demand that the game be made so that they can solo are whiners. That was my point. I see nothing wrong with people soloing. But people complaining that the game is too hard, are whiners.

With the proper equipment I can't think of anything in space that can't be solo'd. The hardest thing would be trying to solo the imp vette at tier 4, and that's because you've got 2 aggressors in the escort and those things just nail the hell out of you.

Um... I'll take those aggressors if you'll come take out the gunboats on the rebel 'vette for me.
(No, not really.)

I eat gunboats for breakfast.
I actually have an interesting rebel vette story. I am just hanging out killing stuff in kessel, and I come upon these two imperials trying to take down the rebel vette. I decide to jump in and help out. Well, I finish off the escort for them and the 2 rebel gunboats, and they still can't seem to take out the shields and the engines before it hypers out. I laughed real hard after that one.

Lol, sure ill not solo when they have things hard enough not so solo. Until then I prefer being one of the best pilots on my server and the constant soloing in my A-wing helps keep my skills sharp!

Trying to find a wingmate for a mission on Radiant is next to impossible, 0 pilots show up on search at any given time. At any rate, very few missions are so hard that a wingmate is necessary and the few that are would require only 1 wingmate at the most.

Go to the movies. Luke went to Dagobah solo. Boba Fett was solo. Obi Wan went chasing Boba Fett solo.
Just because people want to play the game differently than you doesn't make them stupid.
MMORPG means I'm playing the same game as other people at the same time. I buy ships from them, I buy parts from them. Doesn't mean I have to fly with them if I don't want to.

Also some folk (Like me) pretty much have to solo. If I group with four other pilots my framerate drops so fast I become completely useless, even one other pilot can slow me to death if we're in an area dense with ships (For instance one of the sections the Ravager goes through is an extreme version of this that makes it like flying through molasses). Yes, I'm well within the minimum specs for JTL. Yes I have a good internet connection.
Its not my anti-social tendencies that keep my soloing, its something I currently have little control over. (Besides I take care of my anti-social tendencies preying on anything red that comes into my sights and the occasional NS rampage.)
