Since the Quantum Ion Drives came out, and shipwrights can craft much faster than the Haor-Chall anyway, the only use for it is adding extra hit-points to an RE'd Quantum. Other than that, the rewards are the same.

So you only fly one ship or you really like switching engines?

Some of us aren't Imp or Rebel and happen to be a pilot, some are pilots who happen to be Imp or Rebel...

As far as rebel/ smuggler- that really depends on what you're looking to do and what type of flying you prefer. I personally have never really enjoyed the smuggler fighters, at least, not nearly as much as I enjoy flying my X-Wing and B-Wing.

I'd say the biggest difference between smuggler and rebel is that the rebels can generate the most firepower without requiring a gunner (if memory serves, the most a smuggler ship gives is 2 gun mounts, whereas the X has 3 and the master-level B gives 4).

we get 3 guns in the kimo, also, i am a novice shipwright, and have found faction is making no difference to me, but pilot is very helpful to shipwright, and shipwright to pilot, because you can reverse engineer the components you find in space.

Wow, indeed a lot of information, of which I sadly can only assume to understand half of it. But first thanks a lot for all the info.

I can not put things like "faction points", "deep space", and "squads" into the right perspective. And I had already read that FAQ including all the other guides that are linked in that FAQ prior to even posting here. While certainly usefull, it (the FAQ) just assumes way to much knowledge, so it was not really of any help to me (yet!).

* What's the point of belonging to a squad within a faction? Are there any benefits of having several badges?(other then story wise....)

* What are faction points? (note:I am going to try and look this up right after posting this, but I post it anyway so you get an idea of some of the questions that are raised to a complete newbie when reading said FAQ).

* Badges? What are they good for? Why would one want to have all badges if in the end you are going to be a rebel? (besides being able to say: "I got all badges??? Either you're a rebel or you're not!You should not be dancing on more then one fair if you know what i mean :smileywink

* Smuggler Squad: What does this mean; my character will be labeled as a smuggler? (Can I smuggle things?)

I could raise a few more questions but I feel like I have already asked a lot of questions. I am sorry if some of these questions are plain obvious, but after my first day of SWG, i got to say, i am "information overloaded". Right know deciding is even more difficult then ever, especially since I had apparently joined the SMuggler faction (what with Dravis being the only pilot trainer in town, and me not knowing any better...you can figure out the rest. Now i have 11xx in freelancer pilot, and I noticed how slow one advances in the pilot tree, I got worried if this was the correct one. Which is kind off the whole point of positng here, trying to make an informed decision.

Heh, hahahahaha. Can you smuggle? I'm a Master Smuggler and still can't smuggle. hehe.
