I know that only Imperial helmets are (quote from the game!): "... so bulky ... because they allow for faster interface with the onboard computer...", but there is no such bonus.

They are actually so bulky as they contain a life support system

That may very well be so in the SW Universe, but the Trainer tells you it allows faster FC access when he gives it to you.
There's a comical little speech you have to run through...

Some great ideas, especailly multiple ships and expanded lots.

Right now multiple ships is just a annoyance, I really dont like having to unload my ship, redeed it, then enter the ship I want to use into my datapad, rinse repeat once I hit master and want to use more than the master ships.

Expanding that to 5 doesnt hurt anything in my opinion, database size isn't wasted as the items I want for the ships I use will just be kept in a different area.

Actually, you are 'keeping with tradition' by painting your Longrpobe the colors you painted it. I have seen Y-Wings painted Green, Red and Yellow in the movies. The Rebellion has always been more about the individual then the everyone conforming to the sameness that the Empire strives for. It's clearly represented within the films that Imperial soldiers/troopers/pilots are forced into 'cookie-cutter' patterns of dress, accoutrements and conditioning.

Just another clarification here, the different colors were representative of different wings, or squadrons.
E.G. Red Leader, Green Leader, Red 5, et al. It's what they used to delimit their divisions. The colors were wing-specific on those ships, not the choices of the pilots.
However, it should be noted that this is only the case for Alliance-Supplied ships (X-Wings, Y-Wings, B-Wings, and A-Wings), just like in theEmpire fleet, and NOT the case for pilots who owned their own ships. Therein lies the difference between the Empire and the Alliance:
In the Empire the pilots were forced to fly Empire ships (much like the American Air Force... you fly the Forces planes, not your own), whereas the Alliance allowed (and probably preferred) pilots to fly their own ships.
But as noted by others, some "favorite" ranking officers in the Empire were allowed insignia on the foils of their squadron's crafts, as a "perk", noting them as an elite force.

Very good the Only thing I question is the more ships comment. I know a lot of people want it and I kind of understand why but I don't really think it is a big deal. I would prefer rather than adding that just give us the ability to redeed a ship fully equiped (not a decorated MP ship just all the ship equipment) then it wouldn't be as big a deal and would also make for another way to buy and sell ships (although visibiilty of components would be needed so that might be a lot of trouble) I don't know.

Why would you prefer hassle over ease?

I think what he's trying to say is to be able to package a ship "as a unit" in a deed; this would be useful for many reasons:

MSW would be able to build and sell entire ships on vendors.

Players would be able to trade off one ship for another, both setup to ideals, in their datapad, thus bypassing the 3-ship restriction without the hassle of refitting everytime they wish to swap.

Extra storage space for x items hehehe.....

Really nice ideas for the most part, but I do have one small point when it comes to the item in regards to helmets. I'd be with you on the bonus with helmet use or even flight suit use, if only that would not exclude races that got either nothing, or next to it for rewards. Giving everyone else a bonus for droid interface use from an item that can't be used by all, would be like crushing rock salt in an open wound. Hate to sound like a broken record when it comes to Wookiee (and I am sure many other races they opted to make playable, but refuse to fully support)oversight, but since the development team insists on doing it at nearly every turn, I must. As long as they were planning on making an alternate available for other races that cannot equip these items, that'd be fine by me.

I agree, however as a POI:
These rewards should be race-specific and identical otherwise. So a Wookie gets a Wookie Rebel/Imperial/Freelance uniform, for example.
After all... they're uniforms aren't they?

I have to agree about the loot drops. I can't quite figure out why most of thecert level2-3-4 reactors produce the same or less power than the cert one device, yet have many times the mass. This makes no sense at all. The average cert 4 reactor should produce four times the power of the average cert 1 reactor if it is going to have 4 times the mass.

I beleive on the loot drops the cert levels and such may have been a weak/failed attempt at helping to difernciate the different ship classes (Heavy, Medium, Light). I don't think their should be a direct mass to performance ratio on anything but they should try to blanace it out (a lot more than currently is) to force each type of player to look for certain types of componets that are better for them.

Light fighters -all components need to be small with low energy requirments (looking for the most Damage(or whatever for the least amount of mass)

Medium - A little more wiggle room so probably using slightly heavier weapons but still running into lots of problems equiping the absolute best of everything.

Heavy fighters - Mass is of little concern just get the most effect out of each item possible.

The differnt loot levels should each have components geared towards each differnt class of player rather than like it is now if you are a light fighter you look for good cert 4 or less loot since their isn't much high end loot you can even think about using. They need to also make sure that the loot drop tables are adjusted some (I think they did int this patch) to drop level appropriate (not fighter type appropriate that is all luck) types of loot.

1st you are correct that was what I was saying. Also hey whcihever is easier on the Devs and servers (I don't want increased lag) is good with me also.

I agree with this, and yet I don't.

Let me elaborate:
I feel ships should be divided into sub-classes more effectively, as per your statements (light, medium, heavy, aka Fighter, Bomber, MP).
HOWEVER by the same token I'm all for certification levels -- i.e. Better Stuff at Higher Certifications.
So then that would mean 3 classes of item per cert level:
Light Cert5 Reactor would produce less (but close within reason) Energy than a Medium Cert5 reactor, however would have more mass (proportionately) would also have more HP/AP. (bigger so it can take more damage).
Cert levels would therefore mean better performace, not increase all stats.
Cert 5 should be guaranteed to outperform Cert 1, regardless of size.

I also feel that you can't "Fit Up" (or at least, not more than 1 component per ship) f.ex. a Medium reactor on a fighter, but no other "Medium" grade components can be "stuffed" into the space the ship has. (Volume)

However you can "fit down" (MP ship using Medium Grade) -- at a significant loss of performance.
E.g. - Medium Grade engine on MP Ship = max speed 72 - modified to hull = max speed 65 - modified to grade mismatch = max speed 50.

Am I making any sense, or just rambling....?
