I realise there's a top issues list, this isn't quite the same thing.

These are, however, things I'd love to see implemented or changed in the game, whether they be a small thing or a game-balance thing, or simply an idea floating around my head. Some I deem important, some frivolous. Please remember it's all just my opinion.

  • Ships Allowed
We're allowedd 3 ships max. Please increase this to 5, or allow us a total of 6 vehicles, whether space or ground.
This way we can choose to have 5 ships and a ground vehicle for "getting around in" if we so choose.

  • Loot Drops
As it stands, I'm sorry to say, the loot drops make no sense whatsoever.
When I take the time to blow up a gunboat solo, I want gunboat loot, not a Level 2 RE level 1 gun.
That thing shoots for 2000 damage minimum before modifyers, probably more like 2500 base.
Orif I shoot an A-Wing, I want an engine that does a minimum 75.0 max speed. Those things fly over 90m/s, (900 in space), yet they drop at tier3 and 4 level 2 to 5 engines with top speeds between 27.5 to 55.0.
    Make it make sense please.

  • Also regarding loot and equipment, Loot Statistics Min/Max adjustment.
I'm using a booster that's Level 4, the pre-RE stats are without a dount better than any booster I've seen so far under level 8.
Now RE'd I get 27.4 speed boost for a full 14 seconds and 24 seconds to full recharge if I burn it to 0. Mass: 2,650-ish.
I'm looting level 7 boosters with 15.5 speed, and mass over 14,000 (kg?). Please make thelevels make sense.
I loot some with *barely* better speed or recharge, but less capacity, and none with better drain. All much higher levels with higher masses.
I also have a level 1 reactor with 12,975 energy output... and level 1 mass.
It's SO rare to see a reactor at a decent mass (for use in fighters, f.ex.) that can put out enough power.
Yes, higher level ships take more mass.
But the components to run the extra (read: added mass and power requirements) are not proportionately massed.
To run 2,000 more power than I can get from a level 1 reactor at under 2,000 mass I need to run a reactor over 40,000 mass. This is completely unreasonable.
Adjusting THESE values would make adjustments to ship mass allowances irrelevant. For the most part, I find the mass allotments fair, provided equal tiered item masses make sense.

  • Again regarding loot: Give us somewhere to put it!
I'm sorry, but I don't find it right, personally, that people who did NOT buy the expansion get 10 lots, equating to 750 + 100 banked + 110 on self = 960 items stored, and all they need worry about is the ground loot and items; while we who bought the expansion... get no expansion! Take for example level 8 equipment. If you want to reverse engineer the 5 most important components for a Tier5 hull from level 8 equipment, that alone, if you ONLY get items worth using for RE, is equal to a minimum of 40 items. For ONE ship. We can have 3... plus we often need to stockpile so we can HAVE a choice, and know what's worth keeping... Give us 2 extra lots, please. One more Small House. Just for Starship Storage, we need it. Badly.
I think the expansion warrants it, due to the sheer volume of "stuff" we have to go through to get to "the gold".
    Thanks.

  • Very Important: TRANSPARENCY!
We need some transparency. I need to know, before I drop 1,000,000 creds on a hull (900k msw, 100k claim hull), if it's worth buying. I *THOUGHT* mass allowance mid-stat (average, base, +/- depending on skills and materials) was 140,000 for the oppressor.
I found out later (no refunds of course) that it's 150,000 +/-.
So I could as easily have waited, or shopped around, and gotten one with 154,000 instead of 146,000.
HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!! That's good for an entire extra launcher!A better set of Shields!A Better Gun! The possibilities are endless for 8,000 mass allowed.
We should NOT be guessing what good stats are. We should KNOW, because the information is AVAILABLE, not from *it was this in BETA* posts from ex-beta players, or speculation from MSWs, or any other inaccurate source.
We need it from the devs. I shouldn't even have to say why, so I won't.
If the concern here is concern for the materials used by the MSW, then allow them the option to cancel or dump once the stats are known. Better yet, allow them the ability to break items back down to base materials, at a cost.

  • Ship Customization!
    Yes, everyone except Imperials can customise their ships. OK, I don't necessarily want to paint it flaming red, but could we at least get a selection of decals for the foil plates? Please? Thanks. :}

  • Add a bonus to computer interface speeds to the helmets.
I know that only Imperial helmets are (quote from the game!): "... so bulky ... because they allow for faster interface with the onboard computer...", but there is no such bonus. So to be fair, you can't give to Paul unless you give to Peter... so give everyone a bonus.
Maybe interface speeds for the Imps, the Rebel Suit could give an agility bonus (better able to withstand generated G-forces), and the Freelancers bandolier could contain codes to allow them to misrepresent their ship for a short time... or some other cool ability, since they seem to have gotten "the shaft" all the way around in JtL.
Just a suggestion, I'm neither Development nor Design, just thinking out loud. There's no reason whatsoever to wear any of the stuff I got from grinding my way to Ace other than looks, and truthfully, that's kind of sad.

  • PvP Combat Balance:
Already covered in numerous threads, no need for more here, but it deserves a mention.

  • Civilian Pilot Tree and Ships!
    No, the Purolator man does not drive the Purolator Cube Van around on Sunday to go visit Grandma with the wife and kids. :}
I'd love to see some universal ships, fighters, bombers, cruise, et al... other than the one every Ace unlocks that I don't even want. (I know, a lot of people DO want it, good for them :} I'm glad they have the option to get it).
Why are we restricted to uniform? For that matter, IMO we should all be allowed to Ace 2 trees, *faction* and *Freelance* - Smuggler could be an entirely different sub-class.
Imperial by day, hoodlum by night.... hehe...
    Seriously, though, as cool as TIEs are, I wouldn't mind being able to fly something else. A really cool 40k mass allowance skitter like the tier3 droids fly... with only 1 gun, some chaff, and whatever else you can fit in that little speedboat. Not For Serious Combat. But a man needs to defend himself... :}
Make it soTier1of any other tree is a pre-requisite... meaning you have to at least know how to fly before you can start flying...
Of course, this ties into the first point insofar as ships allowed.

  • Public Tours and Cruises!
Wouldn't it be cool to have some MP zones... Floating Yachts you can dock with and board, Stations, Tours of the Galaxy in the form of Space-Cruises... all aboard!

  • I want a MP3 Player in my Ship!
    Don't you?
    Seriously, don't you?

  • V (view) Updates!
As it stands, "status" (online/offline/lowered efficiency) shows and updates correctly, as does damage.
However, droid program enhancements do not list here; actual numbers for overloads or efficiencies would be appreciated.
Perhaps shown as Default on one line, and in red the actual statistics one line below.
  • MatchSpeed! Great feature!
However, it would be fantastic if it were Dynamic.
  • MP Ships - an option for 3rd person view to be in the ship rather than exterior.
As it says, an option, so you can either/or it.
  • Resizeable / Toggleable HUD components!
    This would be awesome, thanks :}
  • Player Squadrons (Separate from Ground PA) for Aces
Having completed Ace, your squadron has nothing left for you, excepting Duty Missions (and that's fine); given that we have virtually no squadron identity even so, having mastered Ace should allow us to create or join a Player Squadron, with similar principles to PA's, yet not force us to leave our ground PA.
There's no reason they should need to be one and the same; a pilot in the American Air Force member of the 101st (pick a squadron ) can still be a member of the Knights of Columbus at home.....
  • The ability to rename Flight Computers in the Datapad!
I'd love to set up 1 FC for each of my 3 active ships, plus another for the Decimator, depending on what we're going out for... but as they cannot be renamed this makes for some interesting browsing through the listed commands stored and trying to remember which is which. We have a plethora of programs, but very limited storage. Droids can be named... why not Flight Computers?
  • The ability to take a single observer up in 1-man ships
As JtL is a skill based-game, whereas the ground game is... not as dependant on player skills, the ability to take a single person into a one-man ship and giving them "pilot's view" (e.g. they can see everything I do, and ship status, but not touch anything) would allow better pilots to train those for whom JtL is challenging.
It is in the best interest of pilots to help those who are in the same faction, or even PA, to train those who they fly with.
There are currently no real tools for this in game; this ability combined with a matching title of "Pilot Training Helper" (similar to the existing "Helper" tag) would go a long way to improving the skill mean in JtL, and reduce many of the complaints on these forums from those who simply don't understand why it's difficult.
I for one would embrace the role of Teacher if this were implemented.
  • Squadron-Specific Colorings for the Ace Jacket!
Or the ability to color the thing... many crafted clothing or armor peices can be colored by players... why not the Jackets?
I'm sorry; though I'm wearing mine (for the Imperial Lapels) I find the color to be... dismal... at best.
Besides, since when is grey (is it grey? or beige?) a color of the empire? Black, Red, or White are the only colors I've ever seen Imperials wearing....
  • Reverse Names Display for Player Ships Selected!
Please, reverse the display! We're not targetting the player, we're targetting the ship -- it makes more sense to see the ship name then the pilot's name, not vice versa. This is a small small thing but would certainly enhance the game IMO, and people would find naming their ships much more fun...

OK, that about covers it for now...
Yeah I know, some of it is cool, some of it bites, and some of it... well, it's covered elsewhere.
Some of it is important.

I don't really expect to see any of it, but if we don't shoot out ideas every now and then, well, SOE might get the idea they're the only ones who know what we want.

Feel free to add or critique or support or... flame

I have my -1 fire protection suit on
Oh wait, that's a bad thing... darn!

P.S.:
I noted that the Broadaxe as a target is the only ship I've seen where the target lead indicator behaved 100% as expected from all approach angles, vectors, positions, speeds, and proximity.
Might want to look at what was done differently there than the other ships.

Edit: Added the update from page2 to the original list.

i dont think more TIE colors would be a bad thing, i mean its not like im keeping with tradition with my blue y-wing longprobe so they should get that chance too hehe. Now Pink should definately be outlawed though.

im imperial and i agree with devs on that we should not be customizing ties... i.e. paint jobs. but i see no harm in adding a few logos, but no paint

LOL !

Someone knows where his priorities are...

And yes, I said no paint for the ties, just maybe a squadron decal, or a variety of decals to choose from, to stick on the panels....

hell i wish they would fix autopilot so that you can leave your chair while the ship is still on autopilot, only because i want to pin the ship into a death-roll and leave the chair, so i can watch all my guests get sick and vomit as they look out the window!

correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember Barron Fel's TIE Fighter squadron were distungished with a red horizontal stripe on the top and bottomportions of their solar foils.

and I need a DEV/Tailor to fix my Imperial Ace Helmet so it fits over my lizard's skull. As an Ace, you should get some racial/specie consideration for wearing your REWARDS..

They are actually so bulky as they contain a life support system
