well yes but, aside from a sense of completion, theres really no reason to, and they werent really designed to do that either.

The only reason destroy duties even have endings is so a) you dont end up spawning 20npcs in a wave that may linger around and nuke anyone else who happens to pass by, if the spawn count just went up forever, and b) if the spawn count stopped at 10 or whatever, so you cant just keep milking spawn after spawn for huge XP

If it was like that I would do duty missions all the time

my guild is full of ace pilots that go to red sin endor just to kill tier 3/4 black suns for loot.. consider it a privledge to do black sun duty missions and have all those ships to your own

I love the Tier 4 duties for loot grinding. I'm glad they're long. Keeps me up there long enough to get a whole bunch of loot, but not so long that I forget to eat or something.

Really, the destroy duties can be completed in a bit over an hour if you're fast. I don't think that's unreasonable.

This doesn't seem to be a problem/consideration with the tier 5 Ghrag gunboats, which could easily do more damage than 20 tier 4 npcs. Not buying this one...

I dont think anyone really ever gets past the1 GB spawn, let alone the 2. And 1 or 2 GBs are a lot easier to avoid once they aggy you than20T4 Ties.Even then, its only in Kash space. Destroy duties are in Dath, Yavin, Dant and Endor, IIRC, if not elsewhere, where some lower tier Pilot missions take you. You know how much some grinding pilots get pissed when their escort takes them through a spawn of T4 Jillion Bolts, imagine how pissed they'd be if their T2 freighter tried to sail straight through a cloud of T4 aggros from someone else's destroy duty.

b) if the spawn count stopped at 10 or whatever, so you cant just keep milking spawn after spawn for huge XP

...or this one. You can call the evil raiders a simple oversight, but can you say the same for every ship-spawning POI in the Kashyyyk system? Between the unlisted Ghrag, the Gotal, the Chiss, and the various cruiser spawns... You could grind there forever. Could that be an oversight?

Okay, okay. Right. Rushed product. Led to grind mania on the ground. Why not oversights causing grind mania in space, too.

No way you could ever grind on static spawns with the rate you can grind on destroy duties. Spawns in Kash may respawn quickly, but they wont spawn 8 new targets directly at your position as soon as you kill the previous wave. You have to take into account total average time spent per kill, which is a lot less for destroy duties, especially up at the higher end of the duty, doubly especially when you're in a PvE monster like a fully souped up Heavy X that can 2-shot a T4 Tie-Int.

If I could just do the last wave of a CP duty over and over, within an hour I'd be capped on faction and have a full inventory of quality loot, after deleting all the T1-6 stuff to make room for better and more valuable components.

I'll often park at a fairly safe spot in the zone and take a lil break for bio, eating, whatever, rather than head straght for the next nav point, if i have to. The only real reason i ever enda duty missionearly is due to my inventory getting too full. But there's no way i'm gonna complain about getting too much loot.

IMO, get an extra gun or two. The first time I ground through T4 was in an Awing with one L7 crafted gun, no overloads. Each fighter took a long time to pick apart. Now, when I farm, I use all three gun slots on my Adv. Xwing. Firepower speeds up the process greatly. Try using 3 crafted guns with the quickshot upgrade.

Right and wrong, here. The thing about kashyyyk spawns is that they spawn continuously. No, you won't get 8 spawns after you kill the previous 7, but... Take, for example, me at the Chiss poacher WP a couple days ago.

I was blowing up around 70 ships a minute in my bel 22. I didn't have to hop from waypoint to waypoint. They respawn faster than the Evil Raiders in Endor, if only on account that there are 4 ships at the waypoint instead of 3.

I'm not sure why I'm arguing abou tthis at this point, though. As I can't really recognize what the point I was previously aiming at was.

70 ships a minute? wow, that's a ship every 0.857 seconds.... Wish I could kill T1's even that fast....

Blinking helps.

Have a snack or bottle of water nearby too, and some upbeat music.

Wrist will get tired, but after a couple days of more of it you'll be fine.

Escort missions are more annoying than destroy missions. At least in a destroy mission I can gauge how far along I am. I have no CLUE how close I am to completing an escort mission. And they're as dull as you can get.

Okay, fine. Escort missions in a Y-Wing would be worse.

Sorry. I realized that I posted the wrong figure a while ago. 70 ships in 10 minutes. Or 7 ships a minute.

I wish they were longer. It's not like you are obligated to finish them, but there are times (Tier 4 Black Sun duty mission, anyone?) when the only time you want to stop the mission is if your ship has been blown to bits. As far as I'm concerned, the spawns should just keep comming until you die or you choose to stop it.

QFE

those damned T4 black sun duty missions only last me about 40 minutes... and i only get 15-20 components out of it. and until i get into the higher levels, it is REALLY RREEAAAALLLLYYY slooooowww.in fact. i rather wish duty missions would keep going until i got blown thehellup.its bothersome having to land and retake the mission every 45 minutes, and then have to build back up to the good part again.

Glzmo was a great visionary. Perhaps SOE should have listened to him instead of rebuilding everything all the time.

They're actually REALLY easy right now ... you only have to deal with 2 waves, it seems. Blow up first wave, blow up second wave, and the game never clues into the fact that the waves are totally dead, so just set yourself to /follow and listen for combat music or shield splashes.
