Tried to do a duty mission a few times.
Had to stop because my hand started to hurt and I needed a bio break.
My eyes burned too from staring at the screen for god knows how long.
I think the duration of these so called duty missions is insane and not fun.
I havn't even complete one 'cause of the above mentioned reasons.
Anyone else agrees or disagrees?

Well, as you don't HAVE to complete them, and they are just an easy (but long) way to get the required xp, I suggest you try higher level spawns/mission to get the xp... Try going along with a higher level group and attack higher level enemies...

Um... duty missions are long for a reason... gain xp with minimal landing. Escort mission never end and destroy missions last for an hour or longer. If you don't want to continue the mission just land or hyper. There is no consequence to leaving early.

Hmmm sorry. I just saw I already created a thread similar like this.
I'm just a little p*ssed *ff.
Still curious if I'm whining or if there are more people who feel this way.

Idea:

When you get to a certian stage in a duty, have a popup menu come up.

End duty? [Yes] [No]
(If you end the duty now you will get a bonus of _____ credits.)

One guy can quit early, another can continue fighting until he gets waves of 15, 16, 17 fighters and beyond on his rear.

I wish they were longer. It's not like you are obligated to finish them, but there are times (Tier 4 Black Sun duty mission, anyone?) when the only time you want to stop the mission is if your ship has been blown to bits. As far as I'm concerned, the spawns should just keep comming until you die or you choose to stop it.

why did you keep going if you were tired? its not like theres a prize for completing the destroy duty. Hell, if you log off while still in space, it doesnt even end your duty so you can launch again and pick up where you left off...or at least you used to be able to

um... I don't know anyother way to explain this... if you want to stop the mission do it... land, hyper to a different system, cancel it in your data pad, or any other way you can abort a mission. you still get the mission success message.

BTW: I would be severly agravated if I had to click some stupid popup after every part of a duty mission.

The thing is it's kinda cool to finish stuff instead of just ending it.

well yes but, aside from a sense of completion, theres really no reason to, and they werent really designed to do that either.

The only reason destroy duties even have endings is so a) you dont end up spawning 20npcs in a wave that may linger around and nuke anyone else who happens to pass by, if the spawn count just went up forever, and b) if the spawn count stopped at 10 or whatever, so you cant just keep milking spawn after spawn for huge XP

Make a an AFK macro, and go park yourself at a station in between waves when you want to take a break. Seriously, ill go watch the history channel or go cook dinner and finish up the duty later.. the upper end of it is the most fun, thats why i hang onto them.

yeah i wish you could take "front line duties" that started at the 4-5-6 wave instead of having to do the 1-2-3 2-3-4 3-4-5ones first
