No-one is happy with the JSF mass. Veterans think it's way too much, Newcomers or non-imperials think it's too little

For the record, I'm in the too much camp.

I was just wondering which craft people use to nail theStar Ravagerwhen they do it solo...I had a run at it today with a JSF, but I always feel a bit guilty using ROTW ships as they feel like a soft option..

I just took out gun 5 and was pulling back to take out the gunships when the formation slipped into hyper and escaped me....So I might have another run at it tomorrow in my A-wing.

Heavy X wing isn't an option for me cos by CPG quest is all locked up...I will take a run at it in the A-wing and if it fails I know I can do it in the JSF.

The hardest partseems to bethe escort fighters, since they don't like venturing toofar from the Cap ships...once thats done you can just sneak in nail 5, IFF scramble and drop back for gunships....

When I hit gun 5 earlier I noticed that I didn't start getting hit until I dived away from the Vette and looped back round only to watch em slip into HS.... Can the gunships hit you under the vette?

Or can you sit there and nail the two shields in the same breath then Iff scramble and loop back to hit the engines...

not sure about imp gunboats, but the reb ones cant shoot anything under them. so if you take out the escorts, and then gun 5 on the vette there isint anythign that can hit you. there isonly one small problem, when you kill the vette the gunboats start going a little crazy, so they are alot easer to kill if you take them out first.

Imperial gunboats have a much tighter blindspot, so once you stray out of that area, they go for you. There's a very small area where neither Imperial GB can shoot at you.

Also, the vette turrets tend to shoot at you no matter which side of the vette you're on at extreme range, chalk it up to another bug. So just because you waxed turret 5 doesn't guarantee a blind spot, especially as you drift farther away and off center.

I'd love to try punching it out by using a Ywing LP double loaded with missiles.... Do-able?

U know I am gonna have a go at it in a Longprobe once I master....Fit out a mean Longprobe, high tech gear and go play silly monkeys....Although it might be better in a standard with agunner....

You would need a top of the line engine...but since mass is not so tight you could get away with it...EO3 is a must tho or those snub fighters are gonna tear you a new one... I would go lvl 8-9 guns with WO3 and a suitable cap withCO.

I've used the TIE/A, TIE/Interceptor, TIE/O, JSF and RGT. JSF makes it child's play, and the RGT is about the same. Opressor was the worst for me, but then again I don't do the park and missile method. Most often I use the TIE/A. Sans missiles, of course.

I've killed vettes with a variety of craft solo--Y-wing LP, regular Y-wing, X-wing, A-wing. Every one of them is doable, but they each require a bit different technique and none of them is entirely easy.

Of course, post-RotW, the Actis and Advanced X-wing make it really, really easy.
