wing commander devs.
i agree it's a bit much in some areas but i will say that i appreciate the nebulae for one reason... they make good markers where waypoints are often inadequate. i'd appriciate a slider to turn them completely off as well though.

Nebula Blast has never worked for me. Maybe it did and the dmg done was so small I didn't nitice. /shrug
That being the case, I wouldn't miss Nebula.

Option Off
[X] Nebula
[X] Storms
[X] Spacestation Detail
Hats off to the art dept on the level of detail but the Spacestation + the flood lights+ the NPC ships lingering around = Huge lag. Example, run a Kashyyyk escort mission that paths past the station and try to engage fighters.

[X] Asteroid field detail
Black Sun missions in Dantooine sector can get extremely laggy unless you lead the WPs away from the 2 asteroid belts. Same in Kashyyyk, especialy when you have the asteroids, then the Nebula behind them.
I agree the space sectors are visualy impressive. However, most of it is overdone and typicaly detracts from gameplay.

A slider would be great to be able to customise sectors for playing speed or visual effects. The same (or a checkbox) should be applied to lightning. It would be nice to have all them as a tactical element of space fight (flying from the sun or blinding enemy for a second) but now the lag is the interface of the added "tactical option".
The debris fields, landmarks and areas controlled by different groups are a good idea, it works as it should work in the SW universe. Some blocaded areas could be solely controlled by the Empire, but remember, many of the planets are in the Outer Rim, close to the unmapped areas. Not all should be flooded by Imperials. Also the landmarks add to the content, they should be better utilized, though, and space should use factions other than the two as well.

I agree. They're stupid and not realistic at all.
I think a space sector just for nebula would be pretty neat (if they upgraded the effects and look of them), but having such small ones, and having them be so close to planets, and having them not be hazerdous at all is all kind of lame.
I still wish they come out with a space sector that looks like space. Black.
Guess I'll stick with flying around tatooine when I want to feel reletively in real space.

ahh well nebulas can go bye-bye for all I care, they just lag out my machine and when you've seen one nebula you've seen them all and they get boring.
I like asteroids fields to fight in (they're fun and not as laggy as nebulas) and I'd like to see some more big space wreckage floating around: Half a ISD and some Mon Calimari cruisers etc etc.

I just love tailing a tier 4 agressor when it is right on my cross hairs and at the very moment I'm about to fire on it (of course, the 100% accuracy from its aft turrets are nailing my shields), a nebula bolt decides it's going to go all out and give me its rendition of a 21000 gun salute and lag my system. I slingshot lag for about 1 second, but enough for the aggressor to knock out my forward shields and hit my droid interface (of course, in the meantime it's no longer in my crosshairs and still pinging me in the forhead). Holy runon sentence batman. Forget I'm college edumacated. When I'm irritated about something, my ability to compose an intelligent post walks the yardarm. Of course, this really only happens when I'm firing at agressors or gunboats.
