Uhh..yeah..sure. Tier 3 missions for SS are not soloable, no matter what equipment you may have. I'm sure pilot skill plays a little bit into it, but some of the best pilots on this board haven't been able to solo them, so pardon me while I cast a shadow of doubt on your story.

I beg to differ. I solo'ed Storm Squadron completely, except for the Corvette which I had down to one gun and came in to find a group taking it out. If you do not believe I can solo it feel free to provide me equipment on Eclipse, and I will do it again when I have time.

The trick to any spawn is to disable as many of those spawned ships as possible. After the first Tier 3 mission I was in an Advanced, and cannot recall if I had my reward engine yet (I just recently found out it was a reward and have already sold the Borstel weapons- would have been nice to know these were reward items). If you do not fire on the incoming ships right away they will generally stick to hitting your escort, and you can focus a bit more on the Tier 4/5 spawns to get them disabled. Once they are disabled the ship you are escorting will move out of their area long before they blow up and their replacements come around to agro you.

I've aced RSF, smuggler alliance, inquistion and BE and Inquistion was probably the hardest. Storm is hard too from what i've seen helping peeps but its on the same level as inquisiton. The freelance squadrons are a piece of cake, i just soloed the entire smuggler alliance including the Star Ravager. Took a few times but finally got a system down to taking out the vette without bomberstrike (oh how i've missed you!). I'm looking forward to acing Storm this week .

From my limited Imperial experience, Inquisition seems the most difficult...but the end result is Imperial Ace = Imperial Ace ...

I firmly believe that the squadron you choose has nothing to do with your skill, you learn how to fly after you hit Ace and figure out the best methods/tactics for your final loadout.

Well, I did Inquisition with my alt, but I must have been bugged... all tier 4 missions were a 3 waypoint patrol in Dathomir, no combat at all, and the exact same waypoints each time... no reward gun or engine at that tier.

My Tier 4 ... one had a BIG ship (not just a gunboat) ... forget what it is called.

The Dark Eclipse Warlord Heavy Cruiser? I think that is a random Spawn in Dathomir, at least anyone can attack it, adn I saw it very often there. Nice design though.

I think that is it (if I remember correctly) but it isn't a random spawn, it is the Tier 4 exit mission.

BE is hardest - period.

The npc's (especially the gunboats) simply do more damage. Period.

Storm Squadron is not *hard* in the same way. SS is tougher because there's more npc's to kill. And if you aren't quick enough, they just keep coming and coming and coming...

If you're after easy, go with Storm Squadron and bring along an Ace who knows what to do.

Inquisition is somewhere in between. The NPC's do quitea bit of damage, and there's plenty of them, but only the Gunboats really pose a problem -- they will aggro you and chase you down, and they maneuver like an X-Wing. About as fast as one too...

This is from experience doing every mission T3 & 4 for all 3 squads to help people through for 3 (almost 4)months now.

Hmm... mighty strange. Usually mission spawns such as that are not attackable without the mission, apart from the ones who you have to recover stuff from, and I was in a group who took the cruiser down while we were waiting for a pvp event, and we had no mission.

In any case, I was bugged then... I had no such mission at all during tier 4

lol.. I was with that group, and also have flown wing on a mission where one of the objectives was to kill one of those cruisers, so I'm pretty sure it's both a random spawn and part of someone's pilot tree (might be Inquisition, actually, or possibly RSF--forget who were were flying for). That is a really cool ship, though, and can dish out a lot of damage. Lot of fun to fight.

Yeah, Tier4 Inqusition was a bit bugged. I think that they fixed some of the problems. If you only got waypoints, you were quite lucky. I think that tis is why Inqusition got the easy reputation early on. Now that you actually get missions for Tier 4, it's not so easy.
