Thread: Does anyone use the TIE Advanced?

I fly my TIE Heavy mostly, but before that my main PvP ship was the TIE advanced. I still fly it every once and a while in PvP, but I really need to RE a lighter L8 engine (or some uber L6)so I can fit better lasers in there. Right now I think I was flying with just one L7 RE, which doesn't quite cut it.

Why do some people fly the T/I (not the RGI, the 50k mass version) instead of the T/A anyway?

I think it's mostly personal preference, they like the look of it. But in addition its got a nicer laser spread.

yes.

MK 1 Reactor, L2 Re'd cap, L1 prenerf DI, L6 RE'd engine, MK II booster, MK I armor, MK IV shield, chaff, and two L7 RE'd bolt drivers.

Still have a wee bit of mass and reactor output to spare too.

I have a setup slightly similar to this in my B-22. The only concern I have with this, is the capacitor is heavily taxed when im engaging ship after ship with no pause. Im running two L7 guns, the Cap is L3 (I think) with a charge rate of 47 and a capacity of 1110. Do you run out of juice for the two L7 cannons often?

If I were staying an Imp pilot, I would fly my T/Adv almost exclusively...I love it.

I am going to miss my T/Adv a lot when I drop Imp...

Pre ROTW, i only flew one for PvP.

Slighter smaller profile, good gunspread. Infact, gunspread is the primary reason why i used it. I just personally detest chin mounted guns in pvp. Not that i havent tried, but im able to connect signfiicanly faster in an interceptor. I used to rock with a prenerf L6 engine and L7 gun in this thing.

Post ROTW, ive mothballed it. Need an L8 engine to be compedative now, and 50K mass just aint enough. This morning i did break it out again. Realitively the loadout, only used an L8 Engine this time. Now i have like.... no room for any shields. Named the ship , "sucidal maniac". So much as bug hitting the windshield it may pop it.
