Ok, off topic, but I'm looking at these resolutions, and thinking wow, either you all suffer from poor frame rates, or have really fast systems. I have an Athlon 64 3000 and a 6800gt and galaxies is "ok" at 1280 x 1024. Again off topic, but, I'm curious.

Yeah I play at 1600x1200 with about 30 fps with what are probably similiar system specs. The trick is to know what graphic settings to run.

For instance, I run full draw distance, but not much of the radial flora or whatever. That stuff is useless, draw distance is useful and immersive. In space, make sure to turn nebulas off. Veryugly and un-Star Wars like in my opinion, and worst of all laggy andthe biggest framerate killer.

I run SWG at 1280 x 1024 and I get 30fps in space, 30fps on the ground when I walk and 20fps when I'm driving a vehicle.

Check your other settings. I keep my Terrain Detail reasonably high, but Detail range and Viewing range minimal. Also, I turn off the Character LOD Manager. Even though every toon gets fully rendered, it actually works faster because it doesn't have to sit there and think about which toons are hi res and which ones aren't.

I have a Athlon 64 3200, 1.5GB RAM, and a Geforce 6800GT using AGP8x and I dont have much lag because I have tuned my settings to be useful but fast, like full distance draw and full shadows but no radial floral draw as its useless except for looks. If you dont have 1GB ram, I would suggest upgrading to that, any higher and it doesnt help unless you run multiple instances or have other programs running in background, like music or VOIP programs. I always have SWG, Ventrilo, and Winamp all going and, like I said, I recieve little to no lag, minus the random times where there are 40+ ppl by theed starport. If I run multiple instances, I have to turn off the shadows and half the draw distance but I am still able to have good speeds, 20+ fps. You may also be getting lag from your internet connection but again, I dont know what you use, I have 512kb.

I like playing in windowed mode cause I can see the ventrilo window, so i can see who is talking, see the title of the song playing on winamp, and get back to game w/o having to alt+tab out or change tasks, a total of about .5 sec spent

No 1600x900 is the highest Widescreen res i can choose.

Dunno why you cant choose higher res. i have a Nvidia 6800 GT that might have something to do with it

Well thanks for the late answer

Now come on, I re-installed Total Annihilation the other day and even that game ran in 1920x1200. Why do we have such crappy resolution in SWG? I swear when SWG first came out you couldn't even run1600x1200.
