Thread: Flying in widescreen?
Hi there, just got a new computer with a 23" widescreen LCD monitor.
Anyone having problems flying on widescreen monitor?
Im using a 23" widescreen LCD and a saiktek cyborg evo as a joystick, My joystick has become really light in up and down movement but still normal in side to side movement, might this have anything to do with the fact that im on a widescreen monitor?
Im using the resolution 1600x900.
On ground its absolutly great with the mouse and all, but when i launch into spaceand try to dogfight stuff i cant hit much.
Do i have to go back to a 4:3 resolution or something or am i doomed ot use the mouse *horrible thought*? Its a damnshame cause i tell ya,JTL on a widerthis big is quite something, i get the shiverseverytime iflybya spacestation or ISD.

Do you have astigmatism? Perhaps the screen is too large, and you being so close to it creates a sense of vertigo that tosses off your on-screen "balance."
I bought a 17 inch widescreen monitor (with a TV tuner) for my second pc, I used it for awhile on my main system, I didn't experience any problems. But I didn't use it very long, a widescreen 17 is like playing on a 15 with an inch or so on each side. So, it went back to my second pc. But, the problem you might have, is that you see more horizonal than you do vertigal. It might just take you awhile to get used to it.

I have gotten so use to running widescreen, when I play on non-widescreen, I feel like I cant see enough of the world and the HUD is too cluttered.
SWG supports any true 16:9 aspect ratio I think.

Ok, off topic, but I'm looking at these resolutions, and thinking wow, either you all suffer from poor frame rates, or have really fast systems. I have an Athlon 64 3000 and a 6800gt and galaxies is "ok" at 1280 x 1024. Again off topic, but, I'm curious.

Yeah SWG supports real 16:9 (1600x900) duh
.The optimal res on this baby is 1920x1200 however, might this be a problem?
