It must have been something related to the different groups or something. I guess the only thing you can do is kill it faster, like you said. Good luck the next time you try!

Thanks , appreciate the luck. Something tells me I'll need it.

At present the plan I am thinking is getting a full wing of teammates, and we hit fast and hard. We handicap the vette quick by dropping off as many of the guns as possible, while 2 or 3 people on the team focus on dropping the gunboats and fighter screen.

I'm hoping we can drop it down to 'just the Vette' as quick as possible, then I can specifically focus on 1 part like the shields or reactor or engine... and drop that one part myself (incase I miss out on hits with the guns).

We'll see. Gotta really think it through this time tho, I REALLY do not want a repeat of last night.

Probably going to hate me for this, but a friend of mine who was going master RSF Pilot. Rode along in a friends ship as a Gunner, but his friend was a Rebel Pilot, and since it was his ship, they couldn't actually attack the vette since it was the Rebel vette. They attacked it and got the "Same faction" SFX and the Vette didn't shoot back, during this another group of Pilots takes out the ship while they're firguing out what to do. It blows up, and my friend gets a message he just completed his Master Mission.

Not sure if I've got a point here, mayabe it's just getting credit for the vette kill is all out of whack atm.

I have had a friend of mine tell me that his first run at the Corvette was bugged because some Rebel NPC was pecking at the Corvette prior to the attack starting.

There WAS a Rebel Y-Wing making runs at the Vette just prior to us starting, is it feasible this bugged the 'credit' to be given for the mission? Or was this most likely caused by the other party of people?

back in the day when i was doing the vette for tons of people on bria i would get a few random bugs like this. the vast majority of the time, you just had to be in system when it blew. i had people that werent even in sensor range get credit. but once in a blue moon someone wouldnt get credit, no matter how much damage they did.

did you try talking to the admiral again? Most pilots dont' get the text on thier screen. Did your friend see it?

that was the first thing i thought also, but then he posted that he went to the admiral agian and he gave him the quest.

what i always do after killing the vette for someone is check the quest chattab. if they got credit, you will see a mission complete message there.

When you complete the '30 kills' mission and return to the Admiral (I believe this is the same for both Admirals), the first conversation you start 'finishes' ththe 30 kills mission, but does not start the next one. The Admiral may tell you about the Corvette Assault mission, but in that conversation you will not receive the mission. You must talk to the Admiral a second time in order to receive the Corvette Assault mission.

That might seem odd, but almost all of the trainers are like that. You are told 'good job' on the mission you completed, that it leads to a new mission, and to 'come back and talk again when you're ready' for that new one.

The Corvette Assault is a little odd because the mission doesn't 'start' until it's over. When you complete the mission, you get the 'has started' and 'has completed' messages at the same time. Because of the timing, people think they failed the mission when more often the truth is that they never had the mission in the first place (if you failed it you would at least get a Quest Update telling you so).

Ok, on to the next subject. You do not have to do any damage to the Corvette to get credit for the kill. None at all. The requirements for completion are to 1) be in a group that gets credit for the kill, 2) be in Kessel when the kill happens, and 3) actually have the mission in your quest journal.

You can be a gunner on a ship that can't damage even the Corvette. You can fly your own ship and never fire a shot. You can get blown up by the escort fighters just as long as you make it back before the 'vette blows. As long as your group gets credit (I'm not convinced that multiple groups can't each get credit at the same time) and you are in Kessel, you'll complete the mission.

I would normally agree with this .. however, I did actually have the mission in my Journal.

First thing that happens (when you HAVE the journal entry for the mission) is a text update onscreen when you first enter Kessel. "Seek and Destroy Imperial Corvette" or something similar. I got that message. Heck I even read through the journal entry like TWICE just to make sure I wouldn't miss a detail and screw it up.

After failing the first time, I went BACK to the admiral and he gave me a talk about "Learning from my failures" and having to "bounce back" or somesuch nonsense, then gave me the mission AGAIN. Same entry in the journal.. same text-to-screen update when I entered Kessel.

Unfortunately this time around , we waited for more than 2 hours, and Star Ravager never re-appeared. We checked for left over gunships from the first spawn, killed every gunship we found.. nothing.

I had the mission the first time around. I know that factually. I got damage in on some components, I guess the primary problem is that.. for some reason the OTHER team got kill credit for it. (I'm guessing because they did more damage?). Right after the Star Ravager disappeared, I checked my Journal and the entry was GONE.

Sounds like to me you got screwed over by a rare annoying bug that shows up every now and then. From what you've told us it sounds like you did everything right, I'd try again and you'll probably (hopefully) getcredit this time.

I'm starting to agree with you.

Just got an e-mail from a guildmate stating that they have heard of this happening once in a while. Something about 'too many seperate targets hitting the Vette'.

*sigh* , hopefully I'll get it tonight.
