Thread: Do you fly 3rd person or 1st Person view?

This has been na interesting post. I really figured more people flew 1st person, but it seems fairly even. I have to fly 1st. Can't quite get a grip on 3rd.

I fly a KSE and always use third, only ever use first if im targetting awings, its so damn hard to get em in third.

I just thought I'd ask this of all of you. I've been flying as 1st person , but started liking 3rd person perspective as it seems to give easier targeting abilities if I can just ignore looking at my ship. I fly with mouse and keyboard.

Before I learned how to switch off the cockpit, I flew 3rd person, because I couldn't see a thing through the Y-Wing's cockpit (it's like driving a tank...). Now I fly 1st person, cockpit off.

1st person cockpit view here.
Quick tip for anyone doing the same: adjust the 'field of view' slider in the graphics options towards the maximum, funnily enough it will improve your field of view. 
Although everything does start to appear a little bit bent.

i switch around.
Oppressor i always use 3rd.
Decimator always 3rd.
Firespray both.

i cant see nothing in my kse 3rd person unfortunatly, so have to fly 1st person. i think people who can fly 3rd person have the advantage

Usually Cockpit off (since my blaster has a terrible weapon effect that blinds me if cockpit is on)
3rd person just doesn't look right to me. I use it in my YT against NPCs sometimes its easier to keep the ship aligned to the enemies for the turrets in 3rd person.

I use both, but generally 3rd person on longer flights. Why? I like looking at my ship a heck of a lot more than I like looking at identical NPC ships ALL THE TIME.
