Fun stuff. My SS character is getting up there now so I might be able to join you on some of these escapades in the future.
Yay for stock X-Wing's! (if only getting film-style parts that are good wasn't such a pain).

I really wish I could have gotten more shots of the X wing. But, that thing had so much smoke coming out of it I could hardly see anything. I was surprised he could keep that thing going. Then, at one point, it looked like a steam locomotive with all the smoke and still he was there plugging away with three GB's ahead of him. It was great.
I did get a really good shot of a B stalking boats through the asteroids and deploying the foils just before the attack.
I filmed Leaph early on, but stopped because he flys too erratic and I was having problems following on auto follow (even at 1300). It was good footage from a distance, but up close it requires a seizure warning big time.

LOL That's hilarious! I can't remember, is Shona Rebel?
No faith in me?? I had seen the T/A earlier and put 2 and 2 together and didn't really fire *at* him, but I had fun putting a few shots off to either side. Sorry if Firespray and I scared you.
It was definately fun. The perspective of a YT Gunner is very different in combat than that of a fighter jock - hopping in a turret now and then is a great fun.
While I have taken people out to run this Duty as a group, we had no ship limitations and ended up with JSF/Bel-22 fighters and one or more Krayts providing punch. I'll probably end up running something a bit more like SS's version in the future (as well as stealing Janu and Kettemoors idea of a Kessel PvP excursion).
Thanks for inviting me out, Leaph.

It's too bad I couldn't be there for this, but as I said when asked, I don't have RotW. It sounds like it would have been fun, I'm flying a Longprobe right now ... which probably is a surprising sight in DS.

As much as it pains me... /salute Lt. Leaph Chausew.
Seriously, sounds like a blast - thank you for sharing that with the community, hopefully it will inspire other aces to find the same kind of fun!

Ohh, ok, sweet! I thought Leaph was on TC...Oh, what ever, I'll make a toon on Starsider some time. Probably after I finish off BH.
I actually have an evil twin who plays on Test Centre
. I just D/L four of the clips and so far all I can say is that B-wings look cool when flown right

I usually film with out the hud on(ctrl-shift h) AND when I target something I have the numlock look function on. Some of the fly by shots when using this method (when you over shoot something cuz it moves to erratically) look spectacular.
Try using something big and heavy with a super fast engine for the camera ship that way the footage is a little bit more smooth and not so jittery. TIE bomber,Krayt, or Y wing with 118+ engine does real well.

I was in my brand new TIE Advanced and with EO3 was doing 1300. It's a crafted engine and doesn't have the best YPR. So, the shots were pretty good in some areas. The best shots were where I would Auto Follow. The shots were fantastic for every ship except the A-Wing. The tactics Leaph uses to be successful in an A-Wing are contrary to a good movie: Erratic and 'Jerky'. I'll try the Num-Lock thing next time. This was very much a learning experience since this was my first FRAPS in something other than staging shots and the like.

Yep. Numberlock looks pretty cool. I was usingit a lot myself so I didn't get too far out of range when kiting those gunboats etc. It gives a very smooth perfectly centered view of any targetted craft. So far from what I've seen though, the footage is awesome. The trailing the B-wing part is amazing since there are two of them and they appear to be working in perfect harmony at times, picking targets etc. I will start editing as soon as I get more clips. I might even hold out until we get some additional stuff too depennding on what the other things are like. The raw footage is excellent so I want to do it justice by producing a decent editorial out of it.
