It may not look as cool, and may not be as manouverable, but the Y-wing, with the turret gunner is a lot easier to use than the Arc. To get full benefit, you need both gunners, but as they only fire to the rear, well the top gunner has a 270 firing arc, the bottom gunner has 180, it's a lot harder to score kills than being a gunner in a Y-wing. It's nice to have an Arc, but for what they offer, they are too big and don't pack enogh punch to be as viable in combat as other ships.

Oh GK, i did notice what the OP said about taking time to get to 3333. but if he had trouble getting 3333, it may take longer to get to 4444 if he doesn't have the help needed. Though, once master he does have the option to kit out a heavy prior to dropping master, then that should loow him to grind xp via the Chiss poachers, and do missions etc.

Thank you to everyone who has posted. A real insight indeed.

I think what i will do is ( correct me if im wrong )... is ....

that i will keep going till i master rebel pilot... ( guild members who are a similar level are helping out )

Then if i stand correctly i can drop my ground based rebel status and "Convert" my master rebel pilot to master Freelance ? Switch to imp

Which should then allow me tostart the quest so i can get the deed.

Once i have the deed i should be able to fly it.

I have no idea of any kind of grinding tips for pilot and yes the 3333 status took off an on about 3 weeks to do. I dont have the time i used to have to play and need backup when it comes to running the tier 4 missions as i have tried solo and fail every time.

Point to note here and one additional reason for my (some would say paranoia) about faction is that i am also a light jedi knight who was in the FRS prior to CURB kicking in. Not sure how these actions will affect my status on that but thats another issue which im sure will mean i will have to re-do the knight trials when FRS is re-activated. But i would rather ask the questions of people such as yourself who know a heck of a lot more about how the pilot thing works than i will ever profess to know.

Thank you again to all who haveposted. makes a plesant change for a civilised discussion over asubject.

No, you must drop your pilot skills and grind neutral/imp pilot, there's no respec/convert pilot profession.

That's why I would be tempted to drop pilot now, and regrind after you have the JSF. The total Xp needed is a lot less that the 4 million needed to get 4444. Make sure you have your Yatch in your datapad, so u can hype to kash to do the vette. It might also be an Idea to get a heavy Z-95 now and kit it out as best you can with all the best equipment, droid programs that you can use. It is very important that you don't touch this ship afterwards. You can use the ship to grind up, giving you an advantage in grinding through the lower stages with a superior ship. I dropped Rebel Ace and Colonel to get the JSF. It took me 2 days to grind back up to master pilot in a heavy Z-95.

OK, before you do something rash let me interject this one thing... If you aquire your master ranking when you re-grind you will recieve bonus XP. This means, finish your rebel master. Drop ALL rebel. Go imp on the ground and take the free tie from your imp trainer... Go to kash and get the JSF (shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes). Then drop all your imp and re-grind rebel. the second time through rebel will be 4x easier than the first time due to the xp bonus for your prior master.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO FINISH VADERS SPACE QUEST TO FLY THE JSF.........!!!!!!!!
