Ordinarly id buy into the speed modifer if not for the mass that allows for a bigger engine.

I really loathe the idea that SOE would bork their own game for the sake of adding a noob carrot. If thats the case, i can only hope Lucasarts puts out a new Sim in the venerable series. Id cancel SWG the very day of the press release of said game honestly. Probably would be more fun, more depth, and without the monthly fee's. I'd be all over that.

What other proof do you need, man? No NPC in the JSF quest tops CL35, and no ship enemy tops Tier 3 (with exception to the RG Int Vette assault). That tastes kinda "carrotty" to me - a Tier 2/3 pilot with MTK or MPistoleer could ace the quest solo (even crappy pilots would just need someone with a minimum of Bomber Strike 2 to assist).

All the talking up of space mining...is it no shock that they give the equipment to start doing it out for FREE?

The quest meant for US was Nym's Starmap - a grueling, infuriating GROUND quest that requires you to possibly die for a part that may or may not be better than the post-nerf Haor-Chall L8.

While I'm here, is the Rendili FG1-A L7 that a Trando awards on Kash any good or should I pass? I'm not talking damagewise, I want to know if there are any stats on it that'd RE nicely with a Boltdriver. No one's posted information on how it pans out - if it's anything like the Ionic Pulse's stats...ick.

Two reasons:

1.) JTL relativly young. Pilot community wasn't as advanced as it is now.

2.) Mass increase though it may have been, it was still less then then an Xwing (sort of a benchmark had it gotten near 100K mass you'd hear complaints), it had no boost in YPR, and i think everyone sort of agreed privateers had the shaft for the longest, so no one complained.

As I remember, it was Imperial pilots who b*tched, and it was Rebels who kept telling us something to the tune of "Imperials have smaller ships, deal with it, nyah," and privateers finally rejoicing that they got some love.

I made due with my Advanced, and as 34 pilots out of 46 total kills can tell you, I made due quite well.

Now that the playing field has levelled somewhat, I can't say I'm not entirely shocked about all the ruckus.

Why would rebel pilots say anything to imperials over Dunelizards mate. Thats a bit of a spurious logic leap you made there!

The dunelizard has 20 K more mass than the Advanced but the Advanced has better accel/decell rates!

Thats NOT the same as a ship that has 2.5 times the manouverability, 50% more mass, twice the firepower of its closest rival. That just means that ship has all the benefits of other ships and none of their weaknesses making in unbalanced in a system where all others have strengths AND weaknesses!

We have gone from having 8-10 useful ships per profession to 1-2 useful ships per profession and most people think this is a step in the wrong direction!

Uhm...RSF?

"We have gone from having 8-10 useful ships per profession to 1-2 useful ships per profession and most people think this is a step in the wrong direction!"

Maybe for Rebels. The Imperials have had three useful ships - the Advanced, Aggressor (for those that weren't master pilots and needed extra mass for heavier components), and the Oppressor.

To pilots like myself, the Advanced was the only way to go. So yeah, Imperials are VERY used to only having 1-3 useful ships for an entire profession. Everything leading up to the Advanced/Aggressor was just an annoying expense.

You're joking around, right? RSF pilots are effectively Imperial in orbit. They can declare just as easily as a straight factional pilot. Just because you might not have ever SEEN a targetable player Dunelizard doesn't mean they don't exist.

Um, for a DS battle on sunday my RSF mate declared as rebel friendly.

Im a rebel so I have fought declared freelancers of all squadrons and fought with them too.

They are only "de facto" imperial friendly against NPCs and if those NPCs started saying they should nerf the freelnacer ships I would start getting worried.

Anyway the Dunelizard is still pretty well balanced in the same manner as all pre ROTW ships are (and freelancers have the crappiest ships, supposedly, I know they look the crappiest) so we cant really grumble about a 25% mass increase.

Oh yeah, Rebels arent likely to tell Imperials to stop moaning about a perfectly reasonable boost to a Freelancer stat, especially if said increase is still within the balance system of all other ships which the ROTW ships arent.

But that's what's driving this. The bulk of the detractors could care less about balance. If both sides could [easily] get their hands on the JSF, we wouldn't be HAVING this argument, and you damn well know it.

You can't ignore the "us vs. them" because that's WHAT THIS IS. This is the "AT-ST in Space" argument.

you are completely wrong I dont think the JSF, the Arc70 or and Sith ships armor should be in the game avalible to players, in a signle player game it would make sence for DV to hand out his old JST to an impressive Pilot but he only had one how can he give it to all 500 of you?

it has nothing to do with Fanboy nothing and if it was a rebel ship I would feel the same way, as I have a Imperial Player on Shadowfire and a rebel on Flurry..... I play the rebel more but I play the imp enough... my imperial does not have the JSF I wont be getting it becasue it shouldnt be here... atleast not the way it is now.

if it was more like a Junker that was found and pollished up. that would be diffrent but its a simple fact that the story line for getting the ship is flawed Vader only has one ship so he can only give one away, and a 20 year old ship should not be better than what is described on the starwars site as the FASTEST SHIP IN THE GCW

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Alliance brain trust of General Jan Dodonna and engineer Walex Blissex developed the A-wing starfighter after examining the role of speed in the Battle of Yavin and the sleek fighters developed by the Tamuuz-an. The top-secret result of their experimentation was the A-wing, the fastest vessel of the Galactic Civil War.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fastest vessel of the GCW is clear and CANNONS from Lucas I Persoanly Feel the Tie intercepter adn hte A Wing should be the 2 fastest ships in the game jsut my opinion I dont think any of the Episod 3 ships should be in the game let alone as good as they are.

Its all greed...everyone wants to be the 'uber-1337 pwner'. If imperials had their fighters and the rebels had the JSF, imps would be crying. Why dont you rebs just get the ARC-170? Stats are pretty close...

i dont understand why the JSF is imp only. cant use the republic turned empire argument because the arc is republic and rebel. Just wondering if anyone knows. was it simply a cheesy "balance" decision on the devs part?
