This is the main reason you'll never, ever, see ADKs for ship parts.

'zactly. Thanks Kayl.

something tells me they'd find a way to code around that guys.

i read this original post as meaning components, not entire ships. yes, doing the whole ship would be a bad idea.

Ship componets currently don't have conditions associated with them, sohow can youput ADK's onthem? And if it means hitpoints and armor points will never decay, then you can just put two ADK's on a pair of armor and your ship will never get damaged.

You're being rediculous, if this were ever the case you'd finally see a fast space-related hot fix.

PerhapsI read it wrong, but I saw nothing in the original post about alowing one ADK to protect an entire ship.

The ADK would prevent it from DECAYING, not functioning and taking damage as part of that fuction.

In other words if you have 300 armor, after being blown up 100 times it would still repair to 300 armor.

Instead of the DECAY that would currently make it useless after those deaths.

yes but for armor, damage=decay, they both affect the same stat the same way. Just like armor on the ground, it loses conditionwhen it takes a hit and when you die and clone, except that ground armor doesnt absorb every point of damage into its condition like space armor.

you could just make armor nonADKable and everything else ADK-OK, of course, but i was just being facetious

That's not a problem though, damage and decay are applied to components seperately, you can have a component take dmg all the way to 0 and still be repairable to the same value it began with.

Dmg is what takes away your points, decay is a function of the maximum you can repair back to.

but thats not how ADKs work - if it was, then your ADKed armor and weapons would still take condition damage, they just would always repair without max condition loss. Thats not how ADKs are coded to work though, if it was then yeah sure thatd be fine, but it would require recoding all the ADKs and likely bugging them, you knowhow good the devs are at making fixes withoutcreating new bugs

I wanted to ADK my ETA-2 Chassis so the condition would never fall from repair
After they fix WO3, i'd either ADK a nice reactor, or one of my engines
