That's an interesting breakdown of the theoretical rationale behind the change, but I've got reason to believe it wasn't intentional. Hope to find out soon.

Deep space is empty.

Rebel Space Station, ISD are all that is around.

Players arrive.

7 Xwings and 5 Bwings start an attack on the Imperial Star destoyer.

Xwings go for the shields and take them out with salvo's of torpedoes.

Bwings roll in and ravage the large side guns. Xwings take out the engines.

2 Imperial corvettes Hyper into the system right on top of the ISD. Gunboats Launch, fighters fill the sky. The xwings hold off the fighters while the B-wings slowly take out the gunboats. Then onto the 2 corvette's. Now it's back tothe ISD. All ships pull away for aresupply (TOO BAD THIS DOESN'T WORK IN DS)Imperial Players starting showing up but he Xwings over whelm them. 1 Bwing goes down to pvp fire, the other 4 tear into the reactor and withrdraw to setup for the final attack run, all 4 bwings scream in launching all their ordnance on the bridge. The ISD erupts into a fireball and bursts into many many peices.

Rebel players are rewarded with 10 loot drops from deep space and 1000 faction and 500k credits. Victory music plays a great battle had by all. Next time the imperial will be better prepared!

Have you been to DS since the CU?

At the moment it will be:

7 X-wings and 5 B-wings enter DS. 4 of them get disconnected immediately. Another 3 get killed by the gazzillions of NPCs that are currently in DS, while on the way to the ISD.

The remaining 5 make it to the ISD. No imp players are about cause they know better than to go to DS at the moment.

So the 5 start having a go at the ISD. 2 Die when the ISD opens up due to sudden terrible lag. All the ISD lasers look solid lines of green and you have less than one frame per second.

No blasters can take it out so the remaing 3 have a go with missiles. After another dies to lag the other two give up. As they run out of missiles tryinmg to kill the damn bridge.

ISD survives again! Will no-one be able to save us from the DS lag-monster???

Just been to Deep space and it is very laggy --- anyone know how to switch off the new targeting boxes ?

Especially round friendly targets --- could this be cause of slow down?

Just went to deep space. Seems fine atm but I"m told the servers all just went down at the same time. Now back up.

Cannot damage teh ISD in anyway. Can't get within 500m to lock, middle area is unreachable and when close to shields or whatever components i've target it won't fire cause missles are out of range.

So imperials can us missles to take out the vettes though?

Since im after my 7th or 8th badge soon, i need to have this clear in my head beforehand.

All the vette components are now located in the middle of the vette itself?

When i target the component, where will the lead indicator be? Will i see one at all?

When aquiring a lock (of which i will receive no tone), i need to have my reticle painting the lead indicator (assuming its not center of mass), or just paint the center of the vette?

What about the engines? Will i still be able to shoot the engines with blasters once they are exposed?

All right, just went up to check things out again.

Missile lock audio and visual is back. I'm not sure what was going on this morning, but I just pelted a Vette with 15 Mk II Image-Recs (too lazy to make some Concussions) and had the lock noise and graphics on each one.

Weapon targets can't be damaged by blasters but are still located where they used to be. However, all other systems--shields, engines, reactor, and bridge--are now located in the center of the Vette. You won't be able to shoot them with guns and you'll have to aim at the center to get missile lock.

Hope that helps.

Details on Cap Ships:

I have tried to destroy the Imperial Star Destroyer as a Rebel ace and can never get a lock to fire missles. I fly right up to it and slam into the hull and still no lock.
IMO ISD is not destroyable atm.

As an imperial ace in deep space I can attack a Rebel Corvette and will get missle lock between 500 and 300 meters but only if I've targeted a sub component. I fire my missles destroy that subcomponent, then target the next. Everything has to be taken out with missles, noexceptionseven after shields are gone. Engines, reactor, bridge, everything is impervious to all but missles.

Rebel Space station does not give lock. I targeted the shields and flew right up next to the main bridge and never got a lock.
IMO the Rebel Space station is not destroyable atm.

Corvette's can be destroyed quite easily imo but it takes a bunch of missles now. Pilots in deep space won't be that hard up but players still trying to make master may be in for a challenge. Since the turrets cannot be easily destroyed now they'll have to be very careful about taking damage.

Prestige points.

I just realized something. I wasn't getting pilot prestige for the kills when I wasin deep space not declared.

Is anyone getting pilot prestige anywhere now?

How about when u declare overt?

Hmm turret 5 might be tricky for rebels for sure, and possibly for imperials trying to make ace depending if bstrike works or not.

Might be tricky because getting a lock on turret 5 while making a strafing run is kinda hard, the time it takes to lock is slighly longer then the time to make a strafing run, and slowing down is like asking to die.

Privateer i think will have it the easiest. Get a missle lock on 5, hit it.. IFF, then hit it again, bye bye turret 5, rest sounds like buisness as usual.

Until this bug is fixed, if it is indeed a bug, imperial Ace pilots have it incredibly easy with an oppressor. The best vette buster in the game just got better i think.

Give your combat logs a check. Experience doesn't pop up onscreen anymore, just in whichever chat tabs you've got set up to display combat info.

Check your presige point score directly in the skills panel? Ive heard all exp messages acutally appear in a combat tab now, and there isn't one in space by default.
