At this point i would like to say that lack of covergance is to your advantage.

If a gun produces more than 1 bolt, (T/I or xwing for example) any one of those bolts hits, you do full damage for that gun. So for an X wing , you only have to hit with half of your spread to do full damage. If you hit with the entire spread you still do full damage as well. So what would be the point of convergance?

This is correct. I feel that they should either leave things how they are...or actually completely fix it. Make each bolt do individual damage, make fighters with multiple pairs of lasers actually have hardpoints for multiple lasers (none of this one hardpoint for an Interceptor business), allow lasers to be fired all at once or in series (think all of the X-Wing games), and finally allow options for convergence.

Try using weapon 4 on a krayt. you can fire dead center at an x-wing and miss with weapon 4, you shoot past the wingspan. However, I think that if each bolt did a portion of the total damage then yes we need convergence, but since it only take one bolt to do full damage (and I have tested it) there is no point. No convergence actually makes it easier to hit in PvP since nobody (that is any good) flies in a straight line.

The ARC and Krayt are about the same. Think if gun 4 was the ONLY gun you had on the Krayt. I want to be able to hit effectively with ALL my guns.

If Rapax is right, then convergence is more of a pychological issue than a real mechanics issue. Though I'll be the first to admit I was under the impression that multiple beams meant divided damage potential.

Im positive im correct

Basically the gunlayout on an xwing is like:

1A-----2A
--3A--3B--
2B------1B

If Guns 1 through 3 do 3000 damage each. Then.

If bolts 1A and 2B hit, you do 3000 damage X 2 guns. (6K)
If bolts 1A, 2B, and 3A hit, you do 3000 damage X 3 guns. (9K)
If bolts 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, 3a, and 3b hit, you still do 3000 damge x 3 guns for 9K damage.

So even if you hit with half your spread, you still do full damage. This also illustrates why mounting that 3rd gun is important since you have it.
