Like anything else in this game follows any sort of a timeline. It would be natural for the Death Star to appear next.

WARNING: Incoming bucket of ice cold water!
There is nothing substantial to do after attainingMaster Pilot. Under the current system the only thing you have to look forward to is carbon copied, remeshed material and helping others achieve Master pilot. While I enjoy helping others, I will not fool myself into believing that it's possible for SOE to provide any activity that will remain 'new' so long as the focus is providing interaction with NPCs.
Add the Lusankya. It'll be 'new' only until I blow it up. Add a Death Star. It'll be 'new' only until I blow it up. Add the Sun Crusher. It'll be 'new' only until I get one. Interacting with scripted content removes the possibility for anything to be 'new' and remain such.

Methinks they've been reading the badges; one of the badges to obtain is blowing up the Death Star, which I'd bet money was a lil dev joke...
That would be a good guess as it has disappeared from my list of badges not received. And it isn't on my badges received list either.

Say, if you have high level components in a dunelizard can you fly the ship with the components loaded?

As long as you can cram them in. Right now I've got a 99.9 speed level 8 engine in there and some great shields, I run with no armor and some decent weapons (working on RE'ing some great ones), a decent cap (cap OL 3 works wonders), DI and reactor and I can run circles around most things up top.

It was asked of a Dev (I forget where) the answer was only Luke can earn that badge, and he has it already. Do an examine of him sometime on Yavin, it may show.

After Ace... well... I've been spending a lot more time on the ground again. THose in my guild that need help with missions are Imperial pilots... and I'm Rebel, so I can't help them. My idea of "fun" isn't going into space and trying to loot things, so I don't do that either. So... lately I've decorated up my Nova Cruiser, though now it's reached 75 items and I can't do any more decorating. My SoroSuub is completed decorated too... soI really have nothing left to do.
I stay on the ground and wander around... just like I did before JtL. On ground and in space I have completely nothing to do...

Since I mastered Privateer i have helped lots of friends and guildies level up in space via tagging along in my Rix/Krayt or having them jump in my YT. Besides that i head to space when i want to make cash-ola. There just is no beating the money you make up there. Its sweet!
Besides i still really like just flying around and gathering loot, the JTL interface/experience is extremely well done imho.

master here, and space is still great fun...you can take Tier 4 duty missions from the trainers of the squadron you are not in even after you master...great way to make money, get loot, and faction pts. For those of you complaining you have nothing to do in space or on the ground anymore, remember this is a role playing game. Make some opposite faction freinds, get your guild and thier guild together for ground PvP or space PvP. I have found when I actively search out PvP by asking imperial guilds for it, I can get it together. Also, my guild has decided to put an outpost right next to a notorious imperial guild on our server that has thier city on top of prime hunting ground. Nothing like rubbing elbows with sworn enemies for a little excitement
