Engine:

You should know though that an engine with PYR speeds closer to the Max and max only mediocre is much more desireable than an engine with great speed and mediocre PYR.

What do the PYR numbers represent? Is it the optimum speed at which your ship will PYR?

Like, if my max speed is 79, and my yaw speed is 62, does that mean I should slow down to 62 when I make my turn? And how do I convert speed 79, 62, etc into the 760 max speed my ship really has?

While I'm asking, the FAQ on the different ships, lists the attributes of each ship, speed, pitch, yaw, roll, etc. How do those numbers interact with engine numbers?

Thanks again!

WHere in the heck did you get those formula's?

No offense man but it sounds like you threw in alot of technical verbage to sound cooler It's really not that complicated.

Id re explain it again but ive been explaing how YPR works on these boards in at least several different posts now and im tired of repeating myself

Maybe we're thinking the same thing but in different terms, but you lost me with that post lol.

Well, what i wonder is do you really need a forumla to establish throttle percentage for best cornering speed? I mean you have no exact throttle setting readout to begin with (so its not like you can measure 81.35 or whatever) and most ship types have a standard throttle setting to achieive corner velocity to begin with. T/A and A wing is about 90% throttle for example. Low YPR on the engine may make for some sucky wide turns but the turn rate is the same regardless of engine. Maybe this is a tomato, tomato thing

Actually Ducimus, by typing

/throttle .1234

(truncated at 4 digits)

you can set *exact* throttle, and it will not change until you either type another number or move your throttle via kb or joystick command. Boost will not move it either.

intresting. I'll have to try that out, first time i ever heard of that. As often as i change throttle though, i dont see myself using it all that much.
