targetting reactor in pvp, dual quickshots will one shot 95% of the ppl out there, and they fire quick too!

for pve though id rather have bigger re'd guns.

K from what I have been told about RE it combines best stats from all components, right? So if I want to RE a boltdriver (lets say with it being the highest dmg one) that means theres no way to increase its damage right? I can only make it's mass less or make it firefaster lets say. And since its damage is at 2950 (I think) why not just stick to a advanced blaster at 2800dmg. I hope I'm missing something big here cause it's making no sense for me.

I prefer two hard hitting slow firing weapons that have the same refire rate for PvP. The weapons on the JSF are so close together that with the same refire I usually hit with both. Besides most pilots move around so much that you usally can't hit twice fast enough to keep them from shunting away the damage. However, for PvE I love the quick shots.

Mass is a big part, but the biggest part is Eff v Armour and Eff v Shields. My 2950 means a hell of a lot more than your 2800 if my EvA and EvS are at .78 and yours are at .48. Not to mention I fly with flimsy reactors, and I can RE my Boldrivers waaaaaaay down on Reactor Drain from what the crafted weapons can ever be.

the re'd guns hit harder due to the vs shields and armor stats.

a crafted gun is going to be under .5, while a re7 can be over .65

a .5vs gun would have to have a more like 3500 dmg to match a .65vs 3050dmg re'd boltdriver.

a quickshot l7 will have more like 2600 max dmg but will fire a bit faster. a maxdmg l7 will have a slower refire than the re gun,and you also lose almost as much min dmg as max, so the average stays almost the same. most ppl just look at the max damage, and dont use the average.

plus the re gun will have lower mass and reactor drain

K I just PM you sorry about that.

Another one, where do you guys a second one if that's a mission reward? Are you paying 90mils for it??? I found one at that price on vendor. I will never be able to afford that.

Also, you're forgetting that while the max damage on the Boltdriver is nice, the minimum can be improved substantially. That, along with the vs ratings Alyxian mentioned, mean a good RE will blow away any crafted gun on every category except refire rate.

However, I'd just like to say that JSFs blow up just fine no matter what weapon I'm using.

while JSFs blow up just fine, nothing is more satisfying than the explosion effect you get when you blow out an awings engine.

as for who to get a new boltdriver, just drop imp pilot and grind it out agian. if you equip a 95k mass heavy stiff with master level gear, you can use it as a novice pilot, just DO NOT TAKE THE PARTS OUT.

the cert check for using ship parts happens when you equip them. if you equip the parts while master, then when you retire and regrind you just need the cert to fly the ship.

I've gotten bargain ones for under 100k before. Yeah, sure the person didnt know what they were selling, kinda like you sound like you've missed out on your reward items because you weren't paying attention. I don't feel bad for buying bargains, but I hunt for them, and I hunt hard. I've even managed to snag my fair share of bargains on Starsider, where the most avid scavengers should be.

Bargin Hunting for the win. I've found a ton of nice stuff on the baz or on galaxy vendor.

I was lucky to loot a lvl 6 blaster, and it had 2950+ max damage before RE. I was able to get it below 9k mass after RE, and actually im waiting to RE a level 10 i looted. so currently, i am using a 23k mass lvl 8 reward gun.

other choices, are the obvious, the bolt drivers. however, if you get lucky on your kashyyyk mission, you can end up with a VERY nice ionic pulse weapon. i think one i got was 3100 max before RE. which at level 7, is obviously superior to the bolt driver.

Bargain hunting is all well and good, but I had a SW offer me 10k for a L8 reward shield. I know you get a lot of them, but that's scarcely more than the chassis vendor offers, and I've seen people offering 16k for ANY L8 part...
