First mission to get into 3rd tier boxes
This mission is extremely long, much longer than other missions of this type. It is a multi-staged mission of course.
Many times during this mission "waves" of enemies are spawning so close together that you cant have even 1 of the enemies dead from the first wave before more are on you.
Also, this mission is so long (over 1 hour even with 2 people grouped) that failing any step is crazy. This mission needs to be split in half because you are flying in the Endor system and Tier 4 or 5 enemies frequently attack you. Since you are only Tier2 at this point those enemies mean certain death and mission failure.

Each time I reach the third/last patrol point, and the spawn point of the crystal runner, I get the message saying "Mission Successful", then it doesn't update any further. Returning to Emperor's Retreat, and speaking with the Grand Inquisitor, only end's up in him saying "So you've failed", with no possibility to get past, get more training, get duty missions etc. This happens every single time I attempt to do this mission. I've filed support tickets on this issue, but were just told that the mission is working as intended, and that I should try again. I've tried doing this mission somewhere between 30 and 40 times now, and it always ends the same way. I cannot bypass this issue, and subsequently, cannot advance my pilot skill. I did /bug on this mission, and believe the issue was reported in beta as well, but it has yet to be fixed. It seemed to be somewhat of a rare bug though, as I can't find too many posts on the forum related to this specific issue, yet there are those of us who are affected by this bug, and cannot move on with our pilot skill until it's: a) either fixed... b) a dev/csr/gm (or whatever) "flags" us for having completed the mission.
I am having this very same issue. When I get to the third waypoint for the first tier 4 imperial inquisition patrol mission I get the system message that the mission was successfull and there is a YT1300 Crystal runner flying around. I have tried this mission many times and tried destroying the crystal runner, disabling and docking with it, and even just leaving it alone and trying to return to the emperors retreat to train; however, everytime I get mission unsuccessful from the trainer. At this point I am stuck at 4333 pilot.Message Edited by ramses420 on 02-11-2005 08:18 AM
I too am now having the exact same problem. This is a MAJOR Game stopper. They really need to fix this.
EDIT:
I just got it to work. I think i may have found a work around for it, im not sure.
I accepted the mission from the trainer, then just as soon as i got it,
Aborted the mission, then picked it up again right after i aborted it.

Is this a Black Epsilon mission? If so, I just solo'd it on my first try, though quite by accident. I think I have been lucky on loots, so my gear is above par for 2222. Basically, at the point where you have to deliver the data to the shuttle, i was swarmed with enemy fighters. I was taking damage through my armor, so I decided to bug out. I hypered to the jump point closest to the station in the Yavin system, and did not get a mission fail message, just an updated target waypoint message.
I repaired, caught my breath, and went back, hoping that if I disabled them, they would spawn slower. Instead, no new fighters spawned near me, and the shuttle came in. On to the next mission. For waves of fighters later on I found it was easier to desable them, and move on. This is during the escort the Y-wing segment. After a set amount of time, they self-destruct. I was pretty far away from about half of them and did not get xp for the kill, but for the other half I did.
I would highly suggest trying to disable them first, especially A-wings. I will continue to use this tactic until it proves unreliable. I hope it works for others feeling overwhelmed by masses of fighters.

RSF exit mission. Final Battle with the Black Sun fleet.
This battle involves a group of NPC allies in the form of RSF fighters that you must defend from 2 Tier 4 Black Sun Gunboats and about 8 fighters.
The RSF "support" never joins the battle. They sit tightly grouped together and never move other than spinning around each other. This bug has existed 2 months ago when I first attempted to complete RSF, and was present 2 days ago when i finally finished it.
The only way the RSF fighters would come to life is if a SA pilot, who is aggro to them, attacks the RSF ships.
I did write a /bug repor when I first encountered this problem, and nothing has been done of it
Is this still the case today? I know there was at least one of these fixed recently (might have been rori rebel, don't remember off the top of my head)
