After thinking about why I had so much problem with the Advanced, compared to the Int, I was trying to sqeeze that (un-RE'd) reward engine in it, which had about 10k more mass than the engine I had used in the Int. Me and a friend are doing the Inquisitor quest together, and he put his reward engine in his, and well, I was not to be out done, so I had to squeeze mine in also
I broke down and bought some nice RE's stuff for the Adv, but I still can't sqeeze a launcher in it, I know if I RE'd the engine I could, but, for now, its pretty darn good. I still stick with my statement of the advanced being the hardest ship for its level to equip. I can't even dream of putting lvl 8 or 9 guns in that bad boy.

Don't dream it my friend...live it. i've got a lvl 10 gun in my advanced. True I can't fit boosters, launchers, or armor in her, and everything else but the engine is all low end stuff....but she moves fast and spits death. Once I get that gun RE'd I might be able to fit a cup holder in her.

I would rather fit 2 level 6s with 2.8k damage and the reward shield than one level 10 gun, more shields and perhaps even more total damage

Loot, loot, loot, loot, loot.
You can find some amazing loot if you look long enough.
I'll have to get you the exact stats for my Advanced but right now she is pretty much just a gun with an engine strapped to it.
prenerf 92.2 engine RE'd (96 top speed 70+PYR) (damn the devs for not letting me ADK my engine!!!)
Lvl 10 3600+ max damage Ion (collecting some nice level 10 guns so I can RE that bad boy)
A reactor that is way too heavy but gives me the juice that I need
Level 2 RE'd cap
Level DI
RE'd shield generator (around 1500 front/back)
Chaff launcher
No Armor
No Ordnance
No Booster
No Room
I've almost got enough parts to RE a very nice level 10 engine that should be able to top my reward engine. And once I get that engine RE'd I WILL get it to fit in there even if I have to take out thepilots seat.
Just think though....with the the new modified Advanced and Interceptors coming all of your dreams will come true. Unless of course they drop the speed and manuverability of the new mod ships. If we get just 10k more mass on the Mod Advanced and the Guard Interceptor...and if they keep their flight stats....mmmmm. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the new interceptor (being the Emperor's personal escort craft) will be the most deadly of the light fighters. And virtually unmatched in PVP. *crosses fingers*
Although with the X-wings getting more mass....yikes.

Currently I have my Advanced equipped as follows:
Prenerf DI: REd Lvl 1, 12.7 spd, 499 mass
Armor: None
Shields: Crafted lvl 5, 1316 power
Booster: None
Gun: REd Lvl 7, Boltdriver, 0.31 spd, 2-3k damage
Engine: REd Lvl 10, 99.1 spd, 84 PYR
Reactor: Crafted lvl 1, 113xx power 900 mass
Flight Comp: EO3 WO3 RO3 CO4 CtSS3
With this ship I am able to outfly pretty much anyone, only have problems with those annoying missile jockeys and 2 or 3 excellent AW pilots... Nothing else can touch me
Ayanami Rei
MSW
Black Epsilon Ace
Former:
CorSec Ace
RSF Ace
Inquisition Ace
Havoc Ace
Vortex Ace
Crimson Ace
So, summa sumarum, it is quite possible to equip a Advanced to be deadly in PvP, with an alt setup (slower engine, 2 guns) its also sweet in PvE (can do any target in the PvP variant, but damage on big tier 5 trgets are slow)
In other words.. Get your stuff REd and find a good ShipWright for those shields/reactor.

Out of curiousity, what's the mass on that level 10 engine? I've been toying with the idea of a very similar setup for PVP (though ditching my Int would be hard). How do the shields hold up, too? Can you survive getting hit with any regularity, or are they mostly there for fending off NPCs who wander into the fight?

Mass on the engine is 39k I believe... shields can hold a single shot from a low end lvl 7 gun (crafted) Ofcourse people have quite a problem with getting the shot to land, heeh... Ive found that 3 outta the 5 deaths I had in PvP was due to lucky shots 1 was the culmination of a 5 min fight between me and a AW ace and the last death was some crappy missile jockey.. Compared to my 30+ kills (on a slow space server) I find it to be highly effective

Get yourself a level 1 crafted reactor. Mine is 1.3k mass and 12.5k output, and if it gets blasted, hell i can easily replace it

If 10k generation is enough for you Vema, I (or most shipwrights) can easily produce an 800 mass one that puts out 10k. 11k generation only weighs 900 mass.

That works too, i was just saying that there are reactors easily available that are lighter and have more output.

Reactor generation will become more important over time i think as WO3 might be fixed soon.
It cant hurt to have a setup for a heavier reactor ready for when you need it

Shopping time's been tight lately. I'm getting married, and that sucks down more time than I can describe. I'll have lots more time in June to dink-out my beauties. (And then I get my Royal Guard... bwhahahahahah).
Even with the reward gun in my T/I, I've still got 10k free. I'm planning to pack it all into a fat TIE in a month.
